Human bones could reveal truth of Japan's 'Unit 731' experiments - Telegraph

This is as bad or worse than Holocaust deniers, because it's sponsored censorship and coverup by their government. Germany teaches how bad the holocaust was. Japan wants no part of teaching this. Ignorance is bliss. Live vivisections (even done to pregnant women)? Injecting humans with horse urine? Death by pressure chamber, chemical and biological weapons tests, and worse. What. The. Fuck.

Unit 731 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sorry if random, but I just saw this article and nearly vomited.

The fascinating thing is, a lot of the research into say hypothermia done by nazis is the foundation of the science today, and is actively used by scientists today.

Question is, do you not use the data because it was obtained by bad methods, or do you honour the death of these people by using the science.

Not really relevant to the article, but interesting to think about.

The thing is, the Nazi experiments were relatively tame compared to the shit Japan did. It was inhumane for both, but holy shit Japan.

As for the Nazi ones, you can't really junk the results, because they were just that - real results. Many of these in Japan were based on garbage "science".

Almost all Japanese people think Japan was in the wrong in those times and are ashamed of what their country did. But it seems to me that they think the atomic bombs washed away their sins so they don't have to dwell on the past or be held in moral debt. So most people just don't pay attention.

The far right are a small pack of fringe losers and nobody likes them, but they do have some political power because they advocate for the non-urban population (ie. protectionism for farmers; taking all the Tokyo tax money and transferring it to bumfuck countryville, etc.) So their wacko issues get more government attention than they should.

If it's not taught (to older students) I really think it should be, even if it's an overview and not the gruesome details. Those who forget it are doomed to repeat it.

Japan was totally crazy during WWII. And there is still a fatalistic, and casual approach to death and even grotesque death.

During WWII a captured American was starved, then stripped naked, and put in a cage in a Zoo in Tokyo. People looked at him after seeing monkeys and bears. It is still a point of embarrassment.

Recently some kid killed his grandparents, hacked them up, threw the parts in a wheelbarrow, and pushed it down the street to bury the parts. People saw him doing it and he told them it was a doll or something.

It's a weird place and once you are the enemy they dont give a shit what happens to you.

OK, how about you name one country in the world that cares about its enemies?

Most countries actually.

The Geneva convention is basically followed by most countries most of the time.

British and German armies basically took thousands of prisoners during WWII and fed them, sometimes for years. We took prisoners during WWII, transported them across the ocean and held them in different places in the USA, and interned Japanese who were treated poorly and lost property but lived through it. They could have shot them and saved thousands of dollars immediately.

Officers are almost always given special treatment by the capturing army.

Poor guerrillas in South and Central America have taken prisoners and fed them sometimes for a year while they starved themselves.

I just was saying that once Japanese society thinks someone is in the wrong, a lot of decorum and rules, just doesn't apply anymore.

Plenty of examples. Even in the Second World War.

Despite being enemies, the Germans (on the whole) treated British, American and French captives relatively well until escape attempts meant they had to crack down on dissent. They certainly didn't mistreat, starve or execute ordinary prisoners. Similarly German prisoners interned in the UK were well looked after, often being allowed to work in villages close to their barracks. It wasn't uncommon at the end of the war to hear of marriages between prisoners and local British girls.

I'm well aware that this treatment contrasts hugely with what went on in the Eastern front, but it goes to show that there was some acts of civility.

Got this off of Wikipedia.

Vivisection

  • Prisoners of war were subjected to vivisection without anesthesia.[13][11]
  • Vivisections were performed on prisoners after infecting them with various diseases. Scientists performed invasive surgery on prisoners, removing organs to study the effects of disease on the human body. These were conducted while the patients were alive because it was feared that the decomposition process would affect the results.[14][11] The infected and vivisected prisoners included men, women, children, and infants.[15]
  • Vivisections were also performed on pregnant women, sometimes impregnated by doctors, and the fetus removed.[16]
  • Prisoners had limbs amputated in order to study blood loss.[11]
  • Those limbs that were removed were sometimes re-attached to the opposite sides of the body.[11]
  • Some prisoners' limbs were frozen and amputated, while others had limbs frozen then thawed to study the effects of the resultant untreated gangrene and rotting.
  • Some prisoners had their stomachs surgically removed and the esophagus reattached to the intestines.[11]
  • Parts of the brain, lungs, liver, etc. were removed from some prisoners.[17][13][11]

Humans are sick fucks. And I'm not just talking about the japaneese or the germans here we're in that boat with the fucking H-bomb. The more I contemplate it, the more I understand where Maynard was coming from. Maybe we should just wash it all away.

My dad was telling me about this, he watched a documentary on it a while ago. Many of the researchers went off to start medical companies or see some other form of success.

To determine the best way to treat battlefield injuries they would shoot them, burn them, freeze them, explode them.

I remember one experiment they did they wanted to see the radius of a certain explosion so they would have prisoners stand at different distances around the explosive and then set it off. After your leg blew off they would dissect you alive, no anestheia of course.

Considering Japanese culture of course these guys think they are all high and mighty, above anyone they tortured. No remorse, proud of the medical breakthroughs they had while Mr. Beaver was screaming from getting his leg hacked off to study blood loss.

Pretty sick.

You forget the major one, A Bomb & Rocketry. Yanks captured foremost german scientists ( or european scientists captured by germans ) and offered them a nice holiday in the states to further their research. What happened Next .....can you say Enola Gay!!!!! Is this discussed or taught in the US , or conveniently leapfrogged.

Nanking Massacre - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Don't know if Nanking massacre is common knowledge or not but a lot of really fucked up shit happened there. Some Japanese officials claim it's bs but there are tons of pictures of small children being thrown in to the air with soldiers trying to catch them on their bayonets, womens corpses all over the roads with their pants around their legs and men being tied to posts and used for bayonet practice.

I sure hope it's all made up. =/

There is probably some mythology surrounding the nanking massacre, mixed in with the truth. I don't believe stuff like the throwing babies up in the ear to bayonette them. Mass hysteria can make regular people do crazy shit, but there must be a limit and I think that is beyond it. But none of us really know, if we are honest about how we get our information.

With that said, Japanese people are extremely susceptible to mass hysteria and following the herd. All you marketers really ought to learn Japanese.
