Just something to bare in mind when you get frustrated and you can't make a site/campaign work just the way you want it to or are stuggling with a project.

Even if you have the most rudimetary internet skilz, you are considered to be a L337 Hax0r by 99.9% of the population and you won't believe what people will be willing to pay you for.

Case in point - I just did a base WordPress install and threw in a few plugins. Total time spent = less than 15 minutes. In return I get a return plane ticket to Europe for less than a third of the regular price (and they supplied the beer while I was "working").

We keep saying some things are so simple that anybody can do it, but the fact is that the vast majority don't even have the confidence to try the most basic things, let alone make a buck online!

Yeah but even so most of the time those kind of gigs are hard to come by. They are usually short assignments. Way harder when you're actually trying to get someone to pay you full time, then they expect you to know literally every fucking thing whether or not it pertains to the project at hand.

Yeah - I get what you're saying. I'm not saying it's a way to make a living or get rich but just by letting people you know what you do will probably mean landing the odd unexpected cherry. Just don't be scared to charge friends of friends or aquantences fairly.

Totally don't understand what your asking.

I'm flying at the end of the month, so don't have pics yet. I'll only pick up the ticket a few days before I leave so no pics of that either.

*Sigh* You're right... I totally wasted a whole 15 minutes doing some easy peasy beginner stuff and only saved myself about $1000 on a ticket that I was gong to buy anyway. I'm such a sucker. I should have made them pay another $1000 and re-billed them as well

I try to remember this when I get frustrated and nothing seems to be going my way. The fact of the matter is that even though we're all constantly trying to learn new things and improve, most people don't have a clue what we're doing or even know about it.

For example: Go ask your friends/family/neighbors what SEO is.
