Just made my first promo vid in After Effects, check er out.

Way better than expected. I go to school for media arts and animation, constantly dealing with after effects. My suggestion would be to make the red arrow at the end do a zig zag to the logo/link. It just dropping down and skewing kinda got boring wheneverything else was action packed.

That newbie shit you made is better than anything i came up with after 4 years in film school.....

How many plugins did you work with? There's no way you made that with out of the box AFX - if you did you got skills.

lol, yeah, everything I used is 100% default / standard in After Effects (CS4). I used 1 expression when the screen would "shake" during the bass, at 2 or 3 different moments. An expression though is just after effects scripting.. It was the "wiggle" expression

Looks good. I'm going to need a 1 min vid for a sales page soon. I'll hit you up for rates.

Just angered I didn't start the composition in 1080p for DVD output. I'm upscaling it now though and re-rendering just to see what it'll look like on my flat screen, though I know it'll probably be pixelated.

Seriously though, videocopilot is all I used to learn, followed like 8 of his 100+ video tuts. Definitely check it out, awesome site.

Me :(.

How long did it take you to make?

Couple days, probably 10-15 hours.. a lot of the time was spent google'ing and figuring out shit.

Best thing I learned and used the most was linking the camera to a nullobject, and keyframing around in 3d space. Combine that with motion blur on each layer and things start looking cool.

Damn.. that is awesome man.

And I agree on zig zagin' the red line, was waiting for it to do something instead of going straight down for the 4-6 seconds.

Good job, and thanks for the link, I've been thinking about getting After Effects for awhile now, it looks cool.

Thanks for the tip. And really, really nice work man. Impressive. I've been meaning to try and learn After Effects forever, just never gotten around to it.

Shit I clicked this thinking it said you made your first porno. This doesn't live up to my expectations.
