alright so im brand new, been hearing about affiliate marketing for a while and now its time for me to hop on. so i've applied azoogleads and am waiting for a reply. so i got a couple of questions.

so is the basic idea of affiliate marketing taking the offer link and putting it into an add (lets say on facebook) and hopefully people sign up/buy your offer?

also, my budget is pretty low to start off, me being a poor college student, but do you guys got any suggestions for my very first try at this?

im thinking starting of with facebook adds, any tips?

but i cant really do much at the moment since im not with a network at the moment.

Facebook can be a good option for the newbies...you can use facebook groups & pages to promote your products and also can customize your url name through fb pages!!

make 10 small campaigns a day with $10-20 budgets (assuming ur small budget) - keep the profitable ones, eliminate the others. You will most likely fail 100 times before you figure out how to make ads that convert on fb, so don't give up so easy...theres money sitting there if you are willing to take the time to grab it.

Read the newbie guide, get a basic idea of what to do then STOP reading. Go make campaigns and ads all day and learn by losing money, may sound stupid now but thats the only way to learn.

I would add set and write goals for yourself.

Don't quit ur day job yet

Keep in contact with ur affiliate manager
 
+1 to what Bryn said. Although if you're on a low budget - the time you have that you aren't creating campaigns should be spent working on small SEO minisites.

Pick a niche, find some keywords and pick one with a decent amount of searches a low competition. See if you can buy an exact match domain - build a little minisite for a product and build links to it.

Rinse, repeat, build more campaigns, don't give up easily.
 
Definitely try and find a good Affiliate Manager, they can really help lend a hand since they see what converts and what doesn't. I'm new to this stuff myself, and like Bryn says you just have to set up a few campaigns before you get the hang of it.
 
im starting out recently, do some cpa campaigns, i.e dating, make blogs u dont need to spend a penny.
