Hey all,

Im looking to take a clients database of customer emails and add them to an autoresponder drip for a 2 or 3 email series. I need the ability to simply copy paste the list in and not have the ESP double verify any of the email addresses because I just want the emails to be seamless to the customer. Im pretty sure most ESPs will send out a confirmation email to the email address if you want to add someone to an autoresponder.

Any thoughts? Thank you :)

I know with MailChimp you can API them in (not positive on paste the list) and it doesn't require another opt-in.

However from what I'm hearing they're a little iffy about aff links now a days, so as long as it's not aff promo it should be straight.

Its not affiliate links and having to get the list approved is no good.

For some reason last time I tried it with mailchimp i had an issue, cant remember what the issue was. The lists are relatively small (a few hundred emails per month)

And I know VerticalResponse doesn't give a fuck where your list comes from (I put new lists in all the time). However, they don't do drips. You can create the campaigns manually in a few minutes, but it won't auto drip.

Sounds like it's best to do it in-house, instead of 3rd party. Grab an account with smtp.com for deliverability, then install a software on your server such as Interspire, PHPList, or whatever.

This is something you need to do on a monthly basis (you said a few hundred a month) or just once?

monthly and id rather just use an esp then setup smtp and all that jazz. I dont mind paying if they have a good easy to use solution that i can train a monkey to use.

For only a couple hundred mailchimp should fit. Their auto-responder system is pretty nice and they do have copy / paste. They also have a free account for < 1500 users now. They will need to approve your list the first time, but depends on the size. If it only starts at like 500 I highly doubt they do anything more than a simple algo.

icontact will accomplish this.

After sending a message (or multiple messages) if your list receives too many complaints (generally Yahoo & AOL are more likely to trigger this), they'll require you to send a confirm to those ISPs. Given the nature of your list, it sounds unlikely that you'll trigger many complaints.

Also - you can set up the autoresponder / drip, and brand multiple lists within the same account.

One wrinkle -- If you get complaints on one list, they may ask you to verify with those ISPs across your other lists.

if you can prove the original registration details (ip, time etc.) and the source is clearly stated then you will not have any problem with most of the big ISP, talk with their support before to tell them exactly what you do, it helps preventing surprises
