Aaah... Sunday.

A good fuck, nice breakfast, a nice cup of coffee... now it's time to hit the forums shortly before work.

So... off to the question:

I am looking to buy a new digital camera, since my old one crapped out on me.

Anyone got an advice on one?

Must haves:
Manual exposure
Zoom
4MP or more
Small - medium size

I am looking at a small-medium price tag, so no recommending huge professional cameras here.

If you got a link to a review, nice!

Thanks a lot,

Thanks,

I was actually considering Canon, as the Nikon digitals just suck IMHO.

Slow startup, cold colors and a light sensitivity that is below shitty.

Actually, guy, +rep, cause that was EXACTLY the kind of thing I was looking for, with a price tag that borders on insanely cheap - leaves me more $$ to buy whor.... ..err.... other stuff.

Cannon is great, stay away from Kodak.

When you are printing pics yourself get the photo printer that has a clear protective coating so the pics can last about 100 years instead of about 25 or less (if you think people will still be looking at the paper pics). I still like printed out photos of favorites.

I like my SD700 IS for a small camera that fits in my pocket and has a great bunch of manual settings :)

I agree with guysmy, go with Canon -- either the A530 or any of the "SD" models (SD400, SD550, SD600, etc) they are the best digital cameras for the money. Fits in your pocket, takes excellent pictures, huge LCD screen and has tons of features. I bought one of the first Canon Digital Elph's (SD200) over 4yrs ago and it has been one of the best performing camera's and still takes better pics than alot of the other brands today. Personally, I'd go with the Canon SD600. You can pick one up for around $250. It constantly rates as one of the best selling electronic products on Amazon

The LCD screen is amazing and takes excellent short videos as well!
