1.) What do you do with the majority of domains you buy? For example, I'll get a good idea for a site, register a domain for it, and never get around to it, so I leave it parked. I assume it's better to throw up something like an autoblog, etc. Do you do that with a lot of your domains?

2.) Do you make any effort to buy expired domains or do you like them fresh?

quick question,

Are forums worth the financial weight and mental trouble they seem to bring. Seems there is always some wise ass somwhere who always causes trouble and the Ctr from ads is horrible from returning members who are ad blind ???

Owning a forum is not for everyone, especially webmaster/affiliate types. They are NOT for people who cannot handle the emotional, psychological, and time consuming drain and toll it takes on you. It should NEVER be about the advertising. It should be about the content and users. Revenue is just a perk that comes with the package.

Forums for OTHER niches are totally different to some extent. Such as fan forums. With those you can totally bank off the users as a first priority because they are a dime a dozen. For webmaster/affiliate types, it's all about quality of the members vs quantity of the bullshit.

have you ever bought a domain for more than $10 (like from a direct purchase)?

if so -

Did you talk the person down on price?

if so -

Which factors did you use to set your max purchase amount, and how did you get the person to drop price?

I'm asking because there's a domain I want/need that's already owned, but it doesn't look like a domainer owns it. So, before I just go in with my wallet out, I thought I'd ask.

LIGHTNING!

Thanks

Yes, I purchase domains for more than $10 from private owners all the time. Do I haggle the price? Not if I don't think it's worth their BIN or if it's overpriced. Most of the time I don't bother with trying to get the price lowered, instead I just move on, because I don't have the time nor the patience to deal with dumb or difficult people or transactions. There are so many domains out there that it doesn't pay in the long run. To me anyway.

Just talk to the person, and show them that by them valuing it by 10x the revenue it currently brings in is dumb. Or convince them that they are holding onto a garbage domain. Or better yet, ask them to trade with you, for a few other domains in exchange for the one you want, this way it doesn't cost you anything except for a few domains you wouldn't have used anyway.

If you're running an autoblog site, how many autoblogs do you have running at once, and do you ever just kill one off, i mean, remove the files etc. ?

If I have autoblogs running, I'd set them to be "automatically blogging" so I don't have to worry about them ever not blogging. Why would you kill them off?

The only reason to ever kill a blog off is if it's not making money, because then what's the point of even having it?

GOLD! Thanks

SEO Question: What's the most effective approach of interlinking several dozen small niche sites?

I'd do it through the "blogroll" approach. Similar to a sitemap I suppose, but for some special reason, the engines love them blogroll links.

If you just want to monetize them better, perhaps creating a custom directory to house them all is a smart route.

You should also consider using Google Custom Search for the searching mechanism on it, and this way you'll also be able to control the results (the niche site's content can appear as the results delivered) and the revenue can be earned from the Adwords on the side that are really your Adsense ID.

Whats the ugliest girl you've ever slept with (pic?)

That would have to be...

But then I woke up...

What do you believe are the components of the value of a domain, and what weight do you assign to each component? What do you believe is the most undervalued component? The component with the greatest potential for future appreciation in the coming years?

For example:

V(Domain) = Reg Fee + Age + Keywords + Length + SE Authority + Type-in Traffic + Organic Traffic + TLD

Oh that is so easy man.. The answer is 4.

When investing in lubricants, what things should help determine the choice?

Flavor?

Nah... all those modern day lubes are so lame.

I like to go with the old fashioned Calvinist routine.... Any old piece of sandpaper will do just fine.

1- I've been more on the buying domains end than the monetizing end for the last maybe 3-5 months now. Monetizing them has taken a backseat. I've been buying them up like a mad man, and just default cash parking paging them with Godaddy, which isn't the greatest. I have however been moving a few over to Sedo and some other places to test out. But to be honest, we have been throwing some ideas together to create a domain monetizing service for my own domains, and for others, because the type of domain monetization I want to have doesn't seem to exist yet. But I won't be making anymore announcements or speaking about it much more until it's finished being developed and we are in beta.

2- I buy lots of expired and deleted domains. Although lately I've been trying to buy more generic domains and premiums for quick flips.
