"Likes" will be the new links.

I hate fuckers like this.

This idea came to him in a dream, he hasn't backed it with ANY actual research.
But he's going to deceive tons of people with this bullshit.

Its a ploy to sell crap that doesn't work to his corporate clients, and drag on bloated contacts for as long as possible. All the while hindering agencies that actually make their clients rank.

Since bruce clay loves social media so much, I just tweeted about how much of a sham this video is.

I think in the futre one of those user moderated search engines will work..I forget the names of the new one but it`s supposed to be entirely vetted by volunteers.

You are right though it`s sheet you can buy likes on Dp

"social media marketing" ugh I just want to throw up when I here about all the fucking twittering and liking here and there. What the fuck is wrong people?

As much as I hate giving kudos, to social media, I use twitter, for political talk, does not make me a dime, however, the G accepting signals from Social Media, is really an extension of it behavioural work in the pre-existing algos anyway. And it makes perfect logical sense, on so many levels.

At the end of the day, G has to go where the sheeple are hanging out, in order to make more dough.

The whole concept of "likes" as a measurement of quality is flawed. You can't accurately measure "I like this" on any given product/service/tweet/review/etc with a single yes/no vote. Plus it doesn't exclude anybody from deploying virtual bots to click "like" buttons all day long. Plus think about how would a new business, especially a small biz ever compete with someone who's "trust rankings" have been established for years because that business has the "like" button clicked on 2 billion times? This is the same issue google has with local biz listings + reviews to make a level playing field.

Just like the old McDonalds stats they used to have in front of the stores, "over 5 billion served". You don't see mickey dee's advertise that anymore and if they did I'd say to myself "so what". Same shit will happen the "like" button, nobody really cares.
