LOL at the sole tag. Obviously if I wanted Google's opinion, I would have gotten it. I did search. Lots of scummy affiliate sites purporting to have reviews for chat software, and surprisingly, their top picks are either Clickbank products, or their own shit.

So, I figured... maybe post on WF. Someone, out of 90k members, probably has live chat on their site and possibly some real world experience.

Maybe I was wrong about that...

Looking into IRSSI, because I trust mattseh's opinion more than 'bestfreechatsoftware.com'

You sure you don't have a buggy internet connection man? The home page loads in 1 second or less here and the pricing page is fine.

Their site is slow at the moment, but chatboxes are working perfectly. Seems like a temporary glitch.

I used Olark for maybe a year? Was solid, simple, fast, and cheap.

It's been a couple years, but unless a new competitor has emerged, they're probably the best on balance.

If what you're doing is law/health related these guys have worked well for me: Live Chat, Website Chat, Website Monitoring, Ngage, Engage | Ngagelive.com Pricey though. I say just law/medical because that's what the chat people know best in my experience. This isn't my subject though, just thought I would throw it out there because it wasn't mentioned yet.

We use zopim.com on a couple of sites and I have to say that we are very happy with them.

I use ProvideSupport on 3 of my e-comm sites. Really I have no complaints, works like it should.

For onsite I like olark. You can also use the imo app and have it sent to your phone.

Using zopim here on few sites. Works great.

Tons of customisation, auto chat responses, custom triggers.
Good tracking.

I recommend http://SnapEngage.com It's the least buggy and looks the best IMO. Has some nice features, but it's also the most expensive.

I use WordPress Live Chat | Ultimate Live Chat and if you want to save money and don't mind installing everything on your server, you can only pay $22/yr...the link for that is Joomla Live Chat, Joomla Admin, Joomla Speed

Only downside is their android app got killed by Google...so if you want to livechat from your phone, you'll need to use an iphone app instead.
