That's dead right... I lived in rural japan for 6 months. No TV, no billboards, basically no media and surrounded by women who very down to earth both in mindset and in appearance... During that time I was stunned at how much my sense of a woman's attractiveness began to focus on how she stimulated me in conversation, how she treated people etc... Also how some very non-classical looks became beautiful in my eyes... Whenever I had a weekend in a city I became a walking hormone looking for anything that resembled a porn-star and very little else. Pretty sure if I'd chosen a life partner in one of those two situations the long term outcome would have been vastly less satisfying in the latter case.
