I know Wickedfire has some great designers for logos, are you folks aware of any good full-site designers?

My uncle in laws paid a good chunk of $ for one of the worst sites I have ever seen. (Diff fonts on each page, bad design/color schemes etc). So I want to get a REAL designer to make a site for them.

Who do you recommend?

Thanks!

HA HA HA Vaginal Relaxation... LOL that's great...

Sorry to tangent. Go over to Sitepoint, check out the contests. Lots of good choices there. I just picked one up from there, but I'm working him to the bone right now so you can't have him.

Dude, there is such a big opportunity for taking our skills in finding good designers for dirt cheap online and selling their services offline to people who pay a ton of money to 60 year old guys who are web designers by hobby and think that frames are the newest, coolest thing.

Just go through the phone book and look at the people's websites in any offline industry and you will find a ton of people who's sites need makeovers... who also paid more than a grand for the 5 page static site they have currently.

My dad once paid a yearly fee to be in some directory and for them to build some canned static template site for him, they charged an extra $500 a year.

Imagine how much work you could get if you DIDN'T rip people off.

This is what happened to the guys I am trying to help out. 11k for a template design that the guy managed to fork up. Terrible terrible stuff. I am doing the SEO for them and going to clean the template up until I can get them someone else.

Sitepoint ho.

I'll do it for 10k.

Your dad went with the local guy eh? My friend once had a plan to buy a bus and drive around the country pimping web design services to small/medium towns. It probably would have made him a fortune. :D

It's sad because they are loaded. Uncle #1 bought a house in the CA hills, 2.2 mil. Then paid 300k for landscaping (amazing pool etc)

But as they say a fool and his money are soon parted. So I want to try to help them out and hey I'll take a few bucks too.

The website is for condos in Roatan Honduras they are building.

I was doing some site for a politician in Australia, he came on phone once and we had a small casual talk. I asked him about the current website, who did it etc.

He said it was done by some relative of some party member and they charged 19k AUD for the website and hosting alone. And the website looked as if it were put together in Microsoft Word. Haha.

@Bradm,
PM me your requirements.
