Lulz Sec says final Farewell via pastebin ascii laden post

They are leaving because they got owned by another hacker group who exposed them for what they are. script kiddies. They are putting their tail between their legs and getting out before they really get dealt with.

And I'm sure they all begged for mercy and asked this other hacker group to not release their info. Pretty damn ironic isn't it. I'm all for exposing governments corruption and shit, but when you start fucking with peoples businesses for the "lulz" then you deserve everything thats coming to you if you get caught.

Agreed. Publishing corrupt politician emails and such is lulz. Fucking with people's money or business is a dipshit thing to do.

NOT agreed.

Sony had this shit coming. Saving credit card info in plain text files? I mean come fucking on.

They may have had this coming, but I'd rather David win than Goliath.

Yeh, and it will hurt Sony in the long run because it's going to make people more paranoid, so I can kind of appreciate that. But those CC# reach the wrong people, it's definitely going to hurt the people that own them more... I can't support that. They could have done other shit that would have been funnier, fucked with Sony more and not effected the average Joe.

Mine was leaked and it didn't effect me at all. I canceled the card.

Yeh, but still a pain in the ass IMO.

Are you still a PSN subscriber?

I no longer have a card on file there. I use netflix, but that information isn't stored with sony.

EDIT:

If I need to buy something I'll get a prepaid visa and use that.

Kind of my point though. I mean I guess you could argue that it made a lot of people aware of security flaws and more cautious about giving out their CC info, but in reality it comes down to now you have to go buy a prepaid card instead of the convenience of using your own shit. And you still subscribe- I doubt many people that own a PS are going to stop using PSN. So who did it really hurt?

WTF? How is anyone to know who to believe?

Lulzsec is just stopping because there's a hot trail on them. Expect arrests very soon, this isn't the smartest crowd of hackers on the planet, it's a bunch of teenage script kiddies
