You want to watch an old school movie that is intense and brilliantly filmed? Recently remastered, "Sorcerer". Wikipedia this shit - very interesting. 1977 no CGI, 22 million to make back then. Might not hold you from the beginning, but stick with it.
I hate the modern film industry passionately, probably as much as I hate the people who consume it with fervor, you know, the ones that get stoked to watch it, and even more stoked to finish it and tell all their friends how awesome it was. Looks like every other action film these days tbh, it's like there's a template you have to follow to even have a film greenlit and marketed. When it comes down to it, 99% of it is trash, you'd be better off reading a good book.
