I was banned because I removed all of my wickedfire articles, and link spammed my blog instead. This is what happens when you get greedy and stupid.

Dude, you're a genius. I want to get some of my gamer friends to work on a site like that. Nice post.

Although this is a great guide... I'd just like to mention that this may be harder to get off the ground than most people think.

I've played tons of MMORPG's for many years. Everytime I bought gold, or knew of someone else buying gold it was a purely viral market. I would ask people, not search for it. I played WoW from day one, up until about a month ago and I've never been to any of the sites that were listed to host on here, not saying they are bad... just saying they might not bring as much traffic as users would think.

Basically every last person I knew bought gold from IGE.com and only there. Didn't even think about anywhere else. Even a friend I knew did this program from IGE.com. I didn't know much about the system then but I still did not trust him even though he told me it would come from IGE.com. People just really like to go with what they know and what everyone else uses for the most part. A huge reason being they are scared that they will get caught buying gold and maybe banned for it. Or just wont get the money flat out at all... sorta hard to sue a company that doesn't give you something you could never prove you got or didn't get.

The only way I can really see this working is if you have the time/money to make accounts, make a new toon, log onto each server, spam your site, then get banned for sure.

Just be wary that this might not be a very easy thing to do.

Well i don't play MMORPG's and i'm makin $75 from 115 uniques a month, and that is everything i did. so it does work ;)

I didn't say it wouldn't work. Just said it would not be easy.

Guess thats not to bad though... as long as your not putting much effort into it. Money is money, right?

But the numbers prove just what I said... 115 uniques a month is pretty low.

but 115 equalling $75 isn't too bad ;)
I'm sure if you advertised ingame it could be more. and i haven't touched the site since i spent 1 day getting it together.

If you did it in game, you would make a ton more. Sure people report you, but that site sticks in their head and a ton of people would check it out and probably bookmark you.

Its just hard to do in the good places... any really good forum with tons of people usually bam you for spamming it.

That's a great guide Dave, I think I'm going to make this one of my projects for the next couple of weeks. I'll report back once I get the site up.

And what did you do to achieve a high position in those Toplists?

I don't do anythin, but i still get traffic from them, cos they're high trafficked top sites.

@Ntodas - I don't think it's illegal, but you can get banned, but it's a risk people take because it's near impossible to get caught.

Bigger than Gold is ISK in the online game EVE. Dont get caught buying this stuff tho, there be mods watching every account....

Alright, I said when this guide came out that I'd give it a shot, and here's my site:

http://www.mmodough.com/

As you can see it took me quite awhile to get around to doing it. Feedback welcome, I'm off to submit to some of these toplists.

There could be a few more affiliate links on there. Such as on this page, you could put an eBay affiliate link - I'm not sure what the US rates are like, but eBayUK pay £7-10 per lead.

Yeah, I'll be adding affiliate links later. Thanks!
