So a 50 year old guy has to only date 35+ year old spinsters?

I understand the reasoning behind it though, to keep all the old creepers away.

I know when I"m a baller 50 year old I'm not gonna be trawling POF for ugly ass girls. I'll probably just own a nightclub and meet hot younger girls through there.

Perverted geezers lying aside - someone should rile up the women against Marcus. Someone just needs to spark the idea that "we should be able to make our own choices" in one of the collective woman circles - and good luck, Marcus. MySpace helped me get laid so many times. But I was in my mid to early 20s at its peak. I'm sure you can use Facebook to get laid just as easy instead of POF

I have to say that I don't think that the age restriction is the answer though... I only date guys at least 10 years older than me. They instead need to let women set parameters themselves and a guy that falls out of those parameters should be sent to my spam folder if he tries to contact me. I shouldn't even show up in his search results. JMO

But then part of the "everyone else" might leave the site once they realize that they can't message those women.

POF already had a mail setting feature and I've also seen profiles where girls say things like "I take fitness seriously and am looking for someone that does the same" or "I'm into guys with tattoos and long hair." That wouldn't prevent short hair guys or whatever from sending them messages, but it would probably be enough to make it so less do so.

Another thing is that a lot of young women want to be wanted by guys that they would never want. They might complain to their friend about how 50 guys messaged them, but at the same time it can be a subtle way of bragging about how desired they are.

POF could have went with a 20 year limit instead. According to my math skills that would be enough to make it so 29 and below don't see 50+, which might be the number that they associate with grandpa territory.
