This is not for the faint hearted....

Cigarette packs patch up hole in chest | Metro.co.uk

Never mind nicotine patches - a DIY patient is using cigarette packets to cover up a gaping hole in his chest.
Rao Jiacang plastered the packets over himself after running out of money for crucial heart surgery.
Somehow he has survived for ten years, despite his beating heart being gruesomely visible through the paper folds.

Nice link bait. Too bad the fuck sticks had no clue which side of your chest holds the heart.

Where's that epic fail sign......

From the article:

"An estimated one in 8,000 people are dextrocardiac - that is, their heart is not on the left hand side of their body, but slightly to the right. "

I knew a guy like that once. He appeared completely normal, but his internal organs were exactly opposite of the usual configuration.

"slightly to the right", is much different than "ON the right".... imo.

Trying to google dextrocardiac, but not coming up with any reliable stats. Got some links?

Am I the only one not feeling sympathy for a guy that has a whole hacked into his chest as part of a lung cancer operation, clearly caused by his smoking, as he's smoking enough to apply fresh cigarette packages to his chest each day?

Here's an idea... Stop smoking! The money saved from smoking that much (even cheap Chinese brands) will pay for the surgery!
I know this is cruel, especially compared to my usual attitude towards these kinds of things, but as a sorta ex-smoker (I still like a good cigar) I have no sympathy for people that can't quit, and then whine about not having enough money.
