I know plenty of people that immigrated here from other countries and created a successful life for themselves and their families. Shit, one of the most successful car dealerships in my area was started by a Russian Immigrant who came here with nothing, worked his balls off to save and then scaled from there.

You know what *does* give me and every other American on this forum a right to complain? We have a fucking job. Pay our taxes. Contribute to society and the economy. Myself and many other people here run businesses that indirectly support their employee's families. Sorry buddy unless your family was here before 1776 you ARE a immigrant. Happen to be of Italian, German, Dutch, French, Chinese, Japanese or anywhere other than English decent? Then guess what your family didn't speak english when they got here either. And no one came to this country with the promise of already having a job, they came to escape the shit mess they were in.

The original colonists came here *knowing* that they were going to have to work hard. In the first link... Not 1%. That 1% only covers the *cash assistance* given to the poor. You left out the massive amount of free health care ($140 billion) given to them.

For the second link, you again leave out health care which inflates that 14% to well over 20%.

Using references from a group that caters to and tries to lobby more money for the poor doesn't provide any validity.

Did she speak perfect english, was educated, and had a job and money all set up for her before she came over? If not we should have just sent her back, much like we are still doing by deporting Haitians back to a destroyed, earth quake torn, epicly poor, politically unstable, cholera infested country. Most of them don't speak english and did not come here to escape religious persecution. They don't really want to "work hard", learn english, and live here. Sorry you seemed to just be pissed about immigrants on welfare. I didn't know you were against poor children, disabled people, and the elderly being provided health insurance or medical care as well who most of are US citizens.
