I don't watch TV but came across the following three videos which show how NLP is used by newsmen during an interview. Not sure if everything the guy says is true but it's quite interesting nonetheless.

The cure for this bullshit is to get rid of your TV though I guess other parts of the MSM use similar techniques.

i dont get what the fucking problem is with fox. they manipulate shit less than retarded left wing media outlets like cnn.

it doesnt matter whether you didnt build that was meant towards business owners or because of some infrastructure crap. infrastructure would be a whole lot better if it was handed over to the market and an equal amount of taxes cut.

maybe buttfuck nowhere wouldnt be connected to three interstates. does it have to be?

shit is getting annoying. fox this fox that. if fox wasnt around, liberal shit would grow way way faster.

Not so much bro. Just looks bad now because the neocons pimp fox and a douchey liberal is in office. Don't forget about 2000-2008. They spin with the best of them.

theres nothing for me to learn. im just pissed off because people cant quit talking smack about fox. not that i like fox or anything. its just been played to death twice.

the only reason there arent as many "look how much shit cnn pulls" videos is that the rabid reddit crowd is on their side.

and the black one is still a fag among fags.

IMO the most eye opening documentary on this topic that also extremely ties in with core marketing/mass persuasion principles:

And you've lost all credibility. 1) you think that Allan Combes is trying to manipulate people on behalf of FOX. This means one of two things. Either you don't know who Alan Combes is because you don't watch FOX, or you know who AlanCombes is and think that he's smart enough to do magic mind tricks on live tv. If it's the former, you're really really stupid because you go on the internet to watch people tell you about conspiracies you should believe in. If it's the latter, you're like a man being impressed by a 3 inch, erect dick.

2) You publicly believe the world trade centers were blowed up by GWB. Look, if you believe that, high five. Keep it to yourself until you find evidence that isn't in loose change. There are all sorts of things I believe that aren't mainstream. Sharing those things, especially when you aren't doing anything reasonable to convince people that your weird views are a-ok, means you probably shouldn't have access to the internet. It's dangerous to couple your intelligence with a connection to the world wide web.

But as you said, the solution to your ignorance about the thing your posting is to not inform yourself by not having a television. I'll get right on following that advice.

It's disgusting that TV reporters pull this kind of crap nowadays. I can remember a time when news anchors actually gave interviews instead of manipulating people into thinking a certain way.

I worked for the largest newspaper chain for 8 years right out of high school while in law school.

The news media is owned by the intelligence communities. That's why stories about turmoil in the Middle East supersede important things like bankers stealing everything you have.

Yeah I've seen these videos before.

I've kinda moved away from paying attention to NLP, but it definitely can be extremely influential. I used to mess with doing it a lot, and I was surprised what people fell for. Maybe that's what ended up getting me into marketing though.

Speaking of Media Manipulation, I really wanna check out this book: [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Trust-Me-Lying-Confessions-Manipulator/dp/159184553X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1343756992&sr=8-1&keywords=media+manipulator]Amazon.com: Trust Me, I'm Lying: Confessions of a Media Manipulator (9781591845539): Ryan Holiday: Books[/ame]

Ummm ... did you get out of bed on the wrong side this morning? Or was your response meant for another thread?

I have no idea who Alan Combes is and I've never watched fox news. The post was not about fox news per se, but about a deconstruction of a news interview by someone who appears to know about NLP, specifically how the reporter used NLP tactics to control the interview in an unfair way.

2) You publicly believe the world trade centers were blowed up by GWB. Look, if you believe that, high five.

WTF ?? What has that got to do with these videos??

It's dangerous to couple your intelligence with a connection to the world wide web.

Man, you should not come online when you're drunk.

What are you talking about? There's no manipulation in the media:

Photo is a Syrian couple fleeing the city. Left is what was printed in the paper, right is the photo they photoshopped it from. The background they replaced it with is probably from Baghdad after the Shock & Awe campaign, or something.

The chick in that pic looks like the michelin man.

The fucking problem with fox is that they're the only news corp that has successfully sued for the right to blatantly LIE (no, not just be biased) to the public and then they sued the shit out of one of their ex-reporters who refused to tell the lies they forced her to.

Fox news deserves all the bad shit they have coming to them and loads more... Not that they're alone in their lies, of course, but I never saw CNN sue one of their reporters for attempting to tell the truth.
