Just saw this and thought it might interest some of you.

Microsoft is paying $6bn (£3bn) to buy digital marketing firm Aquantive in its biggest ever acquisition. The all-cash takeover will allow Microsoft to expand into the highly lucrative internet advertising market, that Google and Yahoo have targeted.
Aquantive advises agencies and website publishers on putting adverts online, connecting buyers and sellers.

6 bil...

why were they so fricken slow to snatch up doubleclick?

geez someone needs to give these arrogant google assholes some competition.

If you think google are assholes... just wait now that microcrap have joined the fray... I'm all for competition though.

Yeah, this is all good for us. Now that leaves Yahoo left from the acquisition party... Aol bought Advertising.com, Google acquired DoubleClick. That means Yahoo is probably taking a good long look at acquiring either Digital River (DR + DirecTrack) or ValueClick.

I'm surprised, these acquisitions seem like they're a long time coming.
