heh, reminds me... big flare up on FB of yoga women a while back. Guess a teacher gave the kid's Minecraft homework of some sort, and that was it! The yoga mom's were fed up, and going to let the teacher have it!

All I could think was, "geez, that's a pretty cool idea to get their creative juices going, considering the kids are only 9. I could think of lots of good homework assignments using it".

What the hell are yoga women?

I've never played Minecraft but I'm going to start now and be part of the influx of non-nerds who ruin it for the nerds.

I just wish there was a platform to transfer all that Minecraft work into other games where there's utility. For example imagine playing the Game of Thrones map in GTA, running around and mowing down all the people in King's Landing. That would be epic.

I make my living in the Minecraft space and this acquisition is looking pretty damn good (for guys like me), all things considered.

I'm sure someone else has pointed it out already but they really need to fix the square graphics, all these screenshots are ugly as kate upton.

I read somewhere that notch (the guy that made it) owned 71% of it. So he just became a billionaire. And then he wrote a blog post saying it wasn't about the money and now he is going to make small games and if they get popular abandon it. lolwut. Sounds a lot like the flappy bird guy.

I know notch, it's definitely not all about the money. It's about pressure, and freedom.

IMO Microsoft is buying the minds of 30mil+ 13-17 year olds for 2.5 billion.

They are securing their future in the future (the youth). These kids will grow up and be familiar with Microsoft and hopefully use their tablets, phones, PCs.

I think its a pretty strategic move and a decent one. Now lets see how much they fuck it up ;]
