Most disappointing game purchase?

Was spore that bad? I remember I tried it out for 1-2 days but had an exam comming up and never got back to playing it more ...

D3 was pretty horrible although I have a barb @ 89.

It has horrible social design, pure Jay Wilson fuckery.

Bought this game years ago and it claimed to have 318 billion possible games after 4 moves. Plugged it in and it looked like shit, the graphics were blocky and awful. Doesn't have single player and I couldn't even get online. Chess is a shit game. I put it back in the box and haven't touched it since.

Last time I played chess it looked like this

Diablo III. Hands down.

I broke my hand when this game came out, and I should have took that as a warning to stay away. But as a die hard Diablo I / II, I played anyway. The Real Money Auction House (and probably the Auction House in general) completely ruined this game. They are doing a lot right now to fix it though (Even removing the AH completed), so we will see how it turns out. It's really a shame what they did to it though, they had the perfect formula but ruined it.

Better luck next time, Blizzard!

No hate for Fable? Peter Molyneux promised so much and delivered so little. He literally said that Fable was going to be the best role playing game of all time.

Yet another vote for Diablo 3.

I'm looking forward to more disappointing purchases, however, on the upcoming SteamOS. Looks like it will be pretty cool :smokin:

Red Dead Redemption.

Played it for 5 minutes before I realized it was basically a pretty boring 'go from a to b then back to a', game just in new packaging.

Then I put in Devil May Cry and all was good again.

I might be alone in saying this, but I'm actually pretty disappointed with Rome Total War 2.

I heard its a huge letdown. It's a shame really... I'm a huge total war fan, but I haven't played any of the new ones since shogun 2 (mostly because I'm too lazy to buy a new graphics card and hook it up). The first rome total war was the fucking shit. It's sad to see they totally butchered the 2nd one.

Anyway, another vote for diablo 3. What a waste of time. Although I did sell my account after 2-3 weeks for $200, so at least I made my money back.

The most recent one that comes to mind is Homefront. Had high hopes for it, started playing it, then 30 minutes later the credits are rolling.
