Just out of curiosity...What realistic use is there to 1gbit, vs 50mbit? I have 16mb and It's fine for me. Would I like faster? Sure...But I don't see how that could really make somebody want to move. I would rather spend the ~$300 a month comcast charges for 100mbit than move away for $70 internet in cities I have no desire to live in.

one example might be if a trader was pulling down live bid/ask spreads & chart updates, and needed rapidfire executions where one extra second of lag makes a huge difference. i say "might" because i've never had 1GBit speed, so tough to say how much improvement it'd offer over 50MBit, but for folks in that game, speed is everything.
