On the firing line
My whole world is in a fog right now. My dog, my companion, my best friend, was hit by a car in front of our house last night. He was probably dead before I reached him 15 secs later.

Take a minute to give your dog or cat a hug and tell them you love them. Pets are our furry children.

I miss Brutus.

So sorry Mike. That just happened to another friend on facebook a couple of days ago too. Very sad

Damn Mike... sorry about your loss. Those animals are truly there when no one else is. I feel your pain. If you need anything you know where to find me bud.

May he rest in peace. A little part of me dies when I know an animal is suffering/suffered any kind of pain.

Last night was really cold here and while I was smoking a cancer stick I could hear a cat meowing, somebody probably left him outside. It might seem insignificant to most, but it really gets to me...

My condolences once again, bud. I'm sure he lived a happy life.

PS: Did you get to talk to the person responsible? What happened?

Did you get the identity of the person that hit your dog?

If so, speak with an attorney. You can sue stupid people who speed and kill your pets. I have twice.

Yeh mike really sorry for your loss , will raise my spliff and glass for your best friend

dam i would have been soooo gutted

Sorry to hear about Brutus, Mike. Two cats I've had were kittens from a group who were crossing the street while my lil sis and I played in the front yard as kids... This lady whose mom had just died was speeding, and she obliterated 3 of the kittens leaving two... It was really scary for us and we were glad we could adopt the remaining kittens. They lived long lives so far.

Brutus looks like he's not a fast or unpredictable dog... Whoever hit him... F them for being bad drivers :(

RIP Brutus

Thank you all. I guess that's why I posted here. Not sure how to deal with this. Crying doesn't seem to help, but the tears flow anyways. So, I thought maybe talking to some friends would help.

No, we don't know who did it. A witness said that they saw it happen and the person just kept driving, but that's all we have. I didn't get her name to call later. My focus was on helping my dog.

The one good thing in all this: the last moments I spent with him was sitting on the couch with Brutus on my lap (60 pound basset hound that thought he was a lap dog) petting him and telling him "You're my buddy." He died knowing he was loved.

Gotta go. More tears. Spend some time with your pets. Let them know you love them.

Damn dude im so sorry to hear that. i just lost my dog of 12 years a week ago. Worse feeling in the world. If you need anything hit me up.
