My sleep schedule is so messed up

I feel your pain - I'm on nights right now. Throw in a huge time difference between me and my fiancé and I've been sleeping for a couple hours, skyping with her when she's free, (trying) to go back to sleep, rinse and repeat. Melatonin has helped me in the past, if you haven't tried it I highly suggest it, you can get it almost anywhere.

used to do the same shit. but I started to get pissed off whenever I needed something from a third party, it would usually be outside of their work time. Even my plans to ask them when I wake up would fail, for I'd usually end up sleeping past 3pm PST when most easterners are off.

so I started forcing myself to sleep before 12am. Been going at it for a month now - and I gotta say it does feel and work out a lot better. Now to get 'working out' into my regime is a whole other monster.

2pm - 2am my prime time. Nothing else works. I dont fight it anymore.

Who were the regular work hours invented for anyways.

I go to bed and get up twice every day as I work closely with people on three continents in both hemispheres.

My main partners are in Oz, so at 16-17 hours ahead, I have to work from around 5am to around 1pm USCST to handle my US and SA action, and then I go to bed and sleep from 1-2pm until 4-5pm (3hrs), get up, drink coffee, do family shit until 7-8 and then go back to work until 1am or so, at which time I go to bed, sleep until 5ish, make coffee, and do it all over again.

3+ years of that shit now, lol. Strangely enough, it works for me, prolly because I've always loved naptime :)

Dude go to the gym at night so you come home tired.

The only reason why we all can sleep so late is because our work require no energy at all.

Play a sport, ride bikes, go for a marathon, or go swimming.

Once you're at 110% you'll have the best sleep ever.

Right now, I go to bed around 6am, up at 1pm or 2pm. That's grand for me every other season except now 'cos you get up when it's getting kinda dusky which is DEPRESSING. Last year I was on 4am to 12pm which is grand, those extra 2 hours of daylight make all the difference.

same here, and during the winter its dark at 5pm and few days ago I woke up, it was dark and I had no idea if it was 8am or 5pm :D

I'm sure I posted about this a long time ago. I constantly cycle through staying up later and later by about an hour or two each night until I have to stay up all day to reset my sleep schedule. Goes something like go to bed at 10pm and stay up for 18 hours and sleep for 7 for 2 weeks and then force myself to stay up all day to do it again.

It sucks ass and sometimes I manage to keep a regular schedule for a couple of weeks but once I start staying up a little later each night, that's it... the cycle begins again.

Get goLite lamp to reset your rhythm. Then use sleep aids to get to sleep. 5-HTP works great. Melatonin works too, but someone told me that it might cause ED, which I haven't confirmed yet, however stopped taking it until I have time for more research. You can also drink valerian root tea, which helps to relax. All 3 of these are somewhat "natural".

I stay up till like 5 am and than sleep until 4pm. it sucks but i can't seem to change it.

when i excercise before bed (hockey or gym) i NEVER fall asleep

I've had this problem for months, the only way ive found to correct my sleep pattern is to stay up until 9 or 10pm the next day drinkin energy drinks.

When your sittin around all day burning no energy what do you expect tho? Hittin the gym soon sorts the sleep problems out

I stay awake for 18 hours, then sleep for 9 hours. So everyday I wake up ~3 hours later than the day before.

This is exactly what I do too! -It's like our planet has a different rotational period... I really wish I could slow down the spin of the earth to match... ;P
