What if we took all violent offenders, who are costing us millions of dollars each year being locked up in prisons, gave them an automatic rifle and shipped them over to our current war zones in the middle east?

If they can manage to survive and somehow get their asses back to the U.S., then they're free men. In the meantime, they'll probably off a bunch of people over there that we're trying to kill anyway. If the prisoners get waxed in the process, oh well. At least we're exploiting some of the few skills these convicts have.

Prison overcrowding goes down to nothing. We don't have the burden of paying $100k a year to keep these douche bags locked up, and we keep some of our military personnel out of harms way.

Whaddya think?

How about we just 'legalize it' and rid the prisons of the most nonviolent offenders. Then we'd have plenty of space to house the cunts who kill!

The war on drugs, if successful at nothing else, was extremely prolific in filling cells. Drug arrests tripled from 1980 to 1997 with almost 80% of these people being arrested for simple possession. The number of people in state prisons for drug offenses increased eleven-fold from 1980 to 1996. Mandatory sentencing laws stripped judges of their ability to exercise judicial discretion, thus increasing the likelihood that a drug law offender would wind up in jail by almost 450% from 1980 to 1992. (these stats are kinda old and i was gonna google new ones, but then i got high)

how about instead - we just release all the people who are locked up for bullshit victimless crimes like "drug abuse" and stop wasting our tax dollars on people who just wanna get high.

LOL real good idea there mate.

Ok so these people are so dangerous that you would just send them to someone else's country to do more crime and once they return them you would set them free to commit more crime at home?

Will not even comment on the trust and discipline thing needed by soldiers...

They should install big hamster wheels in prisons and make inmates run 8 hours a day mon-fri. Benefits:

1) Generate electricity and reduce the energy cost for tax paying citizens.
2) Good exercise and gives them more chances to outrun the cops next time + better health.
3) Its like a full time job, will train to some sort of schedule.
4) etc.

Weekends are weekends, but every weekend day spent in the library takes off a day off the sentence.

Just a thought... :)

Whatever route you go down guys don't follow ours (UK)

Give them 30 years for murder, then let them out after 7 so they can kill again.

It is always said that the British justice system is the best in the, yeah, like f*ck.

One final time he slowly slid his tongue into the tip of the wildebeest's penis. It had had enough. It let out a roar like a tortured lion as it stood up on its hind legs, snapping its restraints like a boulder through a spider's web. Joseph had seen the last moments of his life-- the furious hoof coming down on him. His skull splattered easily as if it were made of cottage cheese. Cindy looked at the bloody mess with a grim satisfaction for a moment before she turned away. Her favorite flavor ice cream was no longer Mint Chocolate Chip.

Please, the government needs to spend billions of dollars to put these drug offenders away. It's not like we having a failing infrastructure system or massive debt to deal with.

Eliminate the 15 year long death row sentences.

If you are convicted in a court of law by your peers of Capital Punishment:

you get 1 year to appeal. period

After that year if your appeals have failed, you go straight to the injection room

"The additional cost of confining an inmate to death row, as compared to the maximum security prisons where those sentenced to life without possibility of parole ordinarily serve their sentences, is $90,000 per year per inmate. With California's current death row population of 670, that accounts for $63.3 million annually."
