:hi:

Ive been going to a lot of places in my month off and i found my wallet to be filled with random crappy business cards. :arcadefreak: Looking at the pathetic quality and design of the card, i threw those out without even checking if it was important or not. :S Not a good move now that i think about it. :P

So i was wondering if quality business card producing and distribution to major countries in the world would be a good idea.

So lets say if the prices are:

60 Professional Business cards for 10$
600 Professional Business cards for 90$

When i mean professional, i seriously do mean it.

Would any of you guys be interested? :rainfro:

If I give you $.05 will you let me smell one?

Serious Answer: I don't know what you seriously do mean by professional?

I personally wouldn't start a business card business, but that's me.

I do though would like a business card, that look like those credit cards.

You can make money even with rocks.

Well, my question was if you would take the pains to order a bunch of business cards from a dude who lives possibly in the other side of the world.

protip: assess a businesses feasibility by measuring market supply and demand. How many people are searching for various business card keywords? how many other sites are competing for that keyword and doing SEO for it? Whats the estimated CPC? Are there keywords you can target that will give you an acceptable return?

Also figure out exactly what how much a business idea needs to net you to be worth the time you're going to put into (this is the most important step of what I'm talking about here, so don't skip it). Saying "I want to make some money" is a shitty goal to have and you could end up wasting a lot of your time. Let's say for you to go all in to a business you require it nets you $100,000/year.

Figure out the possible realistic revenue the venture can earn you - that's Price x Volume. You don't need to consider cost or the production/logistics at this point just focus on the potential revenue. If the potential revenue is less than $100,000/year, scrap it and move on to another business idea.

If the potential revenue is more than $100,000 then you can look into costs, production, logistics and see if it still nets you $100,000.

This is a quick feasibility test you can do on any business idea. It'll save you a ton of time and disappointment down the road.

And now for something completely different.

Wait, wait... I can't believe I missed this one.

Are you actually asking if it would be viable for you to go into an international printing and distribution business? Up against guys like VistaPrint, et al?

Seriously? And nobody called you a fucking retard?

Well, let me be the first:

FUCKING RETARD. GTFO.

Now now. Raging is my deal!

Also why not give it a go? There are always sub niches out there. Just because you can't go toe to toe with a place like VistaPrint doesn't mean there isn't a serious niche out there for very good business cards. Happens every day in every niche out there.

Yeah, I suppose you could always broker out the printing, etc., but I don't think OP had a clue as to what the scope and logistics of that kind of biz would really be, hence my angst, lol.

And I leave football pretty much to you- surely I can have a few n00bs to play with? :thefinger:

Hey guy. If you can figure out a way to make business cards that look like credit cards, that display extra information such as a phone number or website when swiped in an ATM, I'd buy some from you.

What? Have you ever started or been apart of a low budget business? Getting started is half the battle. Continuing on is the other half. When you're starting off logistics is the least of your worries, you're more worried about getting the shit printed and shipped.

If there are no small guys out there, who do the big guys have to battle? The simple matter of fact is the bigger the business the more sluggish they get, which is why small businesses can even the field to a certain point.

Oh and if you want to talk football hit me up, we can defiantly talk about how bad the Bears will be next season. I am looking forward to the draft so I can see how bad the Bears make the team. It'll (the NFC Central) probably go (pre draft) Packers, Lions (assuming Stafford can be healthy), Bears, Vikings. I will say though, I think we will have one of the most (if not the most) competitive divisions in football for sure if this year was any indication. However there's a lot that will change with the draft.
