Okay, so I sold a $3k keyboard for my company on ebay. I don't do a whole lot of selling on ebay, but I do enough to know how it all works. I've ran into a wierd problem here though.

The guy that bought the keyboard lives in the US, and has 13 feedback, 100% positive. I've talked to him on the phone, I really don't think he's a scammer, but ya know, guilty until proven innocent.

We only want to accept paypal. Yeah, paypal sucks, but I still think it's safer than taking a CC over the phone or having the guy mail a phony check.

He says he tried to pay via paypal, and they said we have an invalid account, which is bullshit. We have over 200 feedback, 100% positive, and we only accept paypal. So I don't know why the hell they'd say our account is invalid.

He says he called paypal, and they told him to cancel the transaction, and he says they're still holding his money for 2 weeks or something.

Any ideas why paypal would say our account is invalid? Maybe he sent it to a wrong email address? Outside of paypal, what do you think the safest form of payment to take would be? I'd hate for it to be a stolen CC and totally fuck myself out of 3k.

Anyone know what the fucks going on here? Thanks.

Did you know if I buy from you via paypal while using a stolen credit card your account gets shut? get the guy to wire the money straight into your bank account. Paypal isn't safe, I wouldn't use paypal for anything that I cannot afford to lose.

$3k for a keyboard?????

it sounds to me like a Musicians keyboard.. computer keyboards dont go for 3k,... heh

call paypal. they will tell you what is going on

Yeah, it's a pro audio keyboard. Shoulda clarified, I'm used to talking with people in this business all the time.

I figured out the problem though, and got paid, so thanks for the help guys.

Somehow he sent it payment to the wrong email. I think someone else here at work fucked with the paypal settings or something. So I called him and told him to pay through the company account, he was cool with it, I knocked off $100 for his trouble, he did get 3k of his money held hostage by Paypal for a couple of weeks or somethig. Problem solved though.

Dumb suggestion but do you have a PayPal business account because if you don't then you are breaking the eBay TOS, pretty dumb I know but the eBay TOS States that if you accept paypal, you must accept all forms of paypal, eCheck, Credit Cards, e-transfer, the works but you can only accept all forms if you have a paypal business account.

Its an incompatibility with the system........I heard Google bought eBay and paypal though so maybe in a few months they will fix all the fuck ups with the system.

And the new name would be Googay.

Pretty soon they will just change the name of the internet to Google anyway, just about everything is getting bought out by them.

When you have too much money you get bored and try and change the world.. reminds me a of a movie. Hmm, Austin Powers anyone?
