Hey everyone,

I've been keeping busy the last few months, so I haven't been posting as much.

I recently bought up a shitload of RAM from a member on Ebay. Everything seemed to be great after the RAM arrived, but I discovered that one stick was defective and I politely asked them to replace the stick, or refund me the value of the RAM.

Four weeks later and I'm still getting the "sorry sir, we made a grave mistake and have sent a replacement...." Blah, blah, blah!

Correspondence started originally with a North American named Bradley (flawless written communication) and now the minions that are communicating with me aren't of this land.

What would you guy/gals do? The ebayer has a good rep, despite a few negatives and I don't want to deal with the hassle anymore -- yet I would still like to recieve the gig of RAM I'm still out. All told I ordered 4 x 1gb sticks at $45 each (CDN).

I've never opened a dispute, so I would love to hear the best way to get what I ordered back (Ebay, paypal, etc?)

Thanks,
IMH

*I fucking hate these retards who front themselves as cornfed Americans, then end up being in the Phillipines when problems arrive.

Just open the dispute. Hopefully you've been communicating through ebay already so there is a record of the correspondence.

Don't know the currency conversion rate for CDN, but $45/gig sounds pretty high. I've seen DDR3 for as low as (US)$10/gig on Newegg and TigerDirect.

File a Paypal dispute and go through the process. It's a PITA but you'll get your money back or a replacement.

Thanks guys. I've communicated through Ebay the whole time. I filed an Ebay dispute just now, with a message to the seller indicating I will be starting a Paypal dispute by the end of the day.

@DanWesson: The RAM is for a Dell D600 (old school), which I think makes the cost at more of a premium. Newegg and others generally charge $40 - $75 plus shipping.

We'll see how this goes. :D

DEFINITELY open a Paypal dispute, 9 times out of 10 you'll recieve your money back or a replacement, Often speeds up the seller too ;)
