Never Delete Your Facebook Account!

Like so many other people I really don't find any value in using Facebook socially, I've had my main account for many years but I eventually got fed up with only ever seeing crappy ads and listening to people complain about dumb shit so I had the smart idea to delete my account and start fresh so that I would only use it for business purposes.

Well that was a mistake because I initiated the deletion process waited the 14 days, signed up for a new fresh account and when I attempted to advertise with my credit card a message came up saying this account has been flagged for fraud.

Well that's odd because this is a fresh account and my old account was in perfect standing and my name was the same and I'm using the same credit card what the hell.

So after waiting a week and a half for Facebook to look into the matter they now refuse to activate my ad account, even after I sent proof of identity, turns out they really don't want you to delete your shit.

So now my perfectly good Facebook ad account has been fried. Obviously its my own stupidity but fuck talk blowing shit out of the water Facebook all I wanted to do was use Facebook from a business perspective and not a personal one.

Anyway I'm not completely kicked out of Facebook advertising but what I have to do now is use a fresh email address, a pre-paid credit card, and a fake name. How stupid is that shit.

All because I deleted my main account for a fresh one with the exact same information.

/end rant

All of that only because you had no balls to unfriend people or brains to hide their news. Classy!

Be prepared to submit identification documents for your new fake name. You might bypass this by not being active and just sticking to ads, but it's hard to know with them. They had a big purge this spring when they deactivated a bunch of business pages and suspended the personal profiles associated and asked for ID documents.

20/20, but that's probably why it happened. Their TOS does not allow multiple personal accounts. Maybe they considered your old one to still exist and in need of reactivation if you wanted to use FB again. Maybe I'm thinking of deactivation and not deletion, though. It's probably safer in some ways to make a fake one, but then you also have to be prepared to authenticate that if asked.

I know right, shouldn't of been a lazy bastard and just unfriended a hundred or so people.

This decision is final

hahahahaha I know this one all too well, seen a million people complaining about it after exploring the message I got in my ad account.

Yeah pretty much, I expect to be shut down and re-setup more than once, maybe if I give it a year or so and then attempt to come back with my real information and then wait a few months before starting an advert they might not shut it down again but who knows.

At the very least I can have fun trying to fool there system and do some case studies on how to get around it and/or to eventually overcome it.

It's honestly not the end of the world if I don't have a Facebook Ad account but there ad network is nice to use compared to the alternatives that's forsure.

Are you still using the same IP? for the fake name set up? I also got banned from it after submitting paperwork, same shit happened to me

Haven't done it yet but I'm going to try with the same IP, I think they flag your payment methods linked to your name that's what burns you. They probably realize there is more than one person in a household so banning an IP address right off the bat would also destroy the accounts of everyone else in that house.

So I'm guessing, at least for now you should be safe to use your same IP address, however if after you get several accounts banned (if that happens) then they would probably burn the IP address as well but not at first.

I highly doubt they would burn an IP address for a first offense, they may use it as an indicator but not as a strong rule. At this point its all speculation but I'm going to be doing some testing on the subject that's forsure.

Are people seriously still advertising on Facebook? I remember years ago it was fucking impossible to keep an account open, can't imagine how bad it must be now.

People are still advertising on Facebook. And I seem to always forget to log into my account. But my account is active and I'm happy about it.

Their famous quote, the thing I hate the most when they banned my Ads accounts (Yup, got 3 accounts banned, still regret nothin') -

This decision is final

Haha I tried once creating a fb ad account, ran a few campaigns but got the same message but I gave them a long ass reply and I was surpised they actually read it and re-instated my account, but I never used it again lol.

Any reason you can't report your card as lost in order to get a new one, and use that?

They burn your name and address associated with the card. It's not just the card number, tested this and it holds true, with having a new account and using a legit PayPal as form as payment, looks to be banned immediately.

So no getting a new card won't work. But Pre-Paid cards have no address or name associated with them but still testing out what gets banned and what doesn't.

I will try your method, its so stupid that after sending ID and a matching valid credit card, they still don't allow it, Thanks for the info

What kind of pre paid credit card do you recommend?

Hmm, that sounds like something they should take care of. You delete your account, then create one again, where is the problem? I mean there is no FB rules about not allowing you to create a new account after you deleted one.
I am pretty sure support will clear you in the end. Misunderstanding.
