NEW Facebook Ads

I'm running ads to a demo of around 150k people.

The account's not spending more than about $20/day on this one demo. Is this normal, or should I be seeing bigger numbers?

(For reference, the CTRs I'm looking at for this campaign are all between 0.06 and 0.17, with an average of around 0.10)

Is this a new campaign or an old one that suddenly received a drop in traffic? I have a campaign I've been running for several months now, and I haven't made any changes to it in probably 2 months. For the past 2 days in a row, it's spent like $50 bucks a day, when it normally was spending around $1k/day.

Total 150 clicks, $26 and change spent over about a day and a half.

My cpc are on the high end of FB's suggested range.

edit: I know you're all jealous of my low CPC
lol@ low CPCs :) No I'm not!

With this CTR yes you should be getting hundreds of clicks per hour.

It's a new campaign, I'm starting to think my account's been fucked.

Which is especially weird as I've only had one set of retro-active disapprovals.

^ dupe your best ads, re run. also try cpm.... Some demos+ verticals only do X vol on FB... while others are monsters. You cant compare apples to alcoholics.... Got another acct? Also what is your daily budget? $50 daily account wont get shit for imps while a $30k will run away with em. Run the same campaign with diff domains and test...but FB is very unstable...i doubt its your acct and more about the demo/competition. PS check the adboard for your demo...you might be surprised with what FB has become lately...and no, its not affiliate offers primarily. You are competing against branders, local ad buys et al. World economy seems to be turning around....

might be the best post in this thread so far

Yeah, I've just finished a few dupes of the campaign, thanks!

$3k account limit, they've been banning for multiple accounts (I've already had three banned) so I'm trying to keep my numbers low. Thanks for the tips though!

It's not that the world economy is turning around, it's that local companies would rather spend $20 a day on some clicks to their site than $200 for a classified ad. Very annoying!

And these local companies are hiring highschool graduates to post ads on Facebook, while paying them somewhere between 40-70k/year.
Maybe i should find one for part-time :)

well, this is a new one for me, not sure if its been mentioned - if you create a "similar ad" off one of your old ads and the new one gets disapproved, then the original one either gets re-reviewed or just auto-disapproved.

I had a campaign with about 30 ads. I cloned the 5 best performers into a separate campaign, but CPM. All ads in the new campaign got disapproved. Several hours later I noticed the same 5 ads in the original campaign had now been disapproved also. The other 25 or so ads in that campaign, that are pretty much identical other then targeting, are still running.

It seems like the parent clone was flagged for a manual review after the new ads got canned, as disapproval reasons were different and there was a time delay. (the second round seems to be just the geo-targetting fuck around... my most hated facebook ads 'feature' currently).

anyone seeing no impressions? 1 million plus demo... running cpm suggested .23 - .28 ... bidding .30 turned on at 10am... it is now 1:30pm... 5k impressions... am I doing something wrong?

real answer: a lot of cpm ads i have created do that.
If your cpm == crap move along, if not, move along

i just learned how important testing is on facebook, so I spent $1000 to get some data.

split tested every age range possible...

I was getting clicks from every single age interval, good I thought. WRONG. Only 2 tiny intervals (which were TENS OF YEARS APART) converted. Every age interval before, in-between, and after = Not a single conversion.

I have now kept those 2 intervals and focused on them heavily and am seeing great ROI.

you should go back to the age brackets that you tossed out and tweak the ad copy/pics/lp.
