Man this is serious BS.. I'm not an expert coder or anything, but is it that fucking hard to make a reasonably stable platform that doesn't throw out errors? I simply don't see how a company as large as Facebook can't hire competent enough coders to create a stable platform for their number one revenue generating activity. I'm not saying other ad platforms are perfect, but I haven't ran into one that has this many problems for such a long time..

My affiliate stats are showing 24 clicks and FB is showing only 15. Interesting. Given 1 click by reviewer still a substantial difference. Bidding CPC. But I guess it's a good thing.

haha I have the exact opposite situation. Now I know where the missing clicks went. Seriously though, I've just come to expect the worst and prepare for the worst from FB. Setting expectations low makes occasional pleasant surprises possible.

same situation here, i guess those missing clicks are when users middle click(open in new tab), which FB can't track, or maybe i'm wrong...

I usually see substantial lag with our stats... might have just not been updated yet.

Did anyone notice they stopped accepting Amex in general lol, on the credits page (games credits) the logo is there, but on the CC page it's not.

Ok, I know I'll get shit for this. But is anyone running dating successfully on CPM? I get .1+ CTR ads on CPC and when I switch it to CPM, CTR plumments below .02, no shit.

All I'm wondering is if anyone is making it work with dating on CPM. Don't want tips or anything, I just need to know if I'm wasting my time bothering with CPM dating.

Why don't you just stick with CPC then? With .1+ CTR, you should be getting 10-15 cent clicks.

lol not anymore, try .25+ ctr in demos 18+.

I'm convinced there is some sort of artificial inflation going on with their ad system. No noticeably big new advertisers in the space. Anyone else have any theories on this? It can't just be natural competition, their sporadic guidelines changes would eliminate a big part of that growth. Local businesses maybe? Haven't seen them in my area(s) but I guess it's a possibility.

I'm pretty sure its local biz. There are a ton of local advertisers in major cities, I'm surprised you don't see many in your area. Here in Toronto the ad board is flooded with local biz.

My main dilemma is a Catch-22: I make ads (CPC) that get 0.4%+ CTR, but the recommended bids are still really high. And if I make new ads (knowing they should be even more optimized) I have to start over to "age" the ads so FB gets comfortable with them.

Are the bids still high after 10,000 impressions?

BTW: I have a little theory. I think that the "like" feature under the ads works as a quality score. The higher the ratio of others liking your ad, the cheaper your CPC. For example I had a suggested bid of 0.10, and I was bidding 0.09, but my average CPC was 0.02 because I assume the people targeted liked the ads. (Had a "like" based ad copy)

I was running my ad that I mentioned getting 40-60 cent clicks. Then one day I wake up and BAM, 1.38 Suggested bid. Basically went threefold and raped my ROI to breaking even.

Only way to lower your CPC (for CPC dur) is to age your ad and maintain a good CTR. But depending on certain shit, you better be ready to drop a couple hundred to get profitable CPCs.

anyone had facebook report way less clicks than prosper?

Recent example, running a tiny campaign with 0.14~ ctr, today prosper reported 16clicks while fb reported 6clicks, ctr went to shits

seems like clicks came in a burst and fb just stopped acknowledging them after daily budget was hit

.

I think they made a change a couple months ago to give CPM bidders shit low-CTR impressions. Anyone else confirm?

It can. Look at all the branders driving traffic to their "Pages". Dole Bananas is just one example. Brand agencies are all over FB now. And it will get even more so. Plus game developers. Plus local. Plus, plus, plus.
