NEW Facebook Ads

Why in the fuck would Facebook open up a PPC platform if they love their users so much and just disapprove EVERY-DAMN-THING? Kinda proves their ignorance when entering the space.

I swear, I think I've submitted 50 ads and only got like 3 approved. And then the traffic sucked balls to boot.

Anyways, I think the only way to do it is link clean and switch to your aff. link after it's been approved.

I agree. The only way I can get anything approved is to submit it with a link to the homepage. Once approved I switch in my affiliate link to the SAME page.

I just forgot to do that and they disapproved all of my newly submitted ads.

Go figure. Fucking idiots. So I am NOT supposed to have an affiliate link? How the fuck do I make money?

Jeez. Good thing my offer is converting ;)

I can see how FB can be really good for certain stuff, but meh, I'm going back to Goog, Yahoo, MSN. Fuck em', right in the FACE.

Heads up for yall: one of the reasons you're not getting ads through is they're reviewing from non US IPs now. Just got got denied with the referrer
http://harvard.intern.facebook.com/intern/ads/review.php
and the IP 83.71.190.99.
Which is an Irish IP address. So any offer that involves filtering by GeoIP gets shitcanned.
That particular IP block is 83.71.190.64 - 83.71.190.127
Seems pretty small to me. Unless it's commonplace in Ireland to have them that small, I'd bet FB purchased it off them.

They are doing double reviews now. I got a batch of ads approved and then 2 hours later they are all disapproved.

Im in Belfast - anyone want me to pass a message on to the Irish Failbook team?
This should help with the irish issues..it's a mod on cl.php (the file prosper uses for cloaked directlinked campaigns). I'll let you guys figure out where to put it(it's not hard).

This basically cloaks the redirect. So if someone's reviewing the ad, it uses CURL to visit the link, pull out the actual offer page and then sends the reviewer there(skipping any geo redirects that might cause irish issues).

Keep in mind this script hasn't really been tested very much or anything like that; it was just a quick rig.
PHP:
if(stristr($_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'],"intern")!==FALSE AND stristr($_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'],"facebook")!==FALSE AND stristr($_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'],"review")!==FALSE)//means it's an ad review
{
    $ch=curl_init($redirect_site_url);
    curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HEADER, 0);
    curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION, 1);
    curl_exec($ch);
    $newurl = curl_getinfo($ch,CURLINFO_EFFECTIVE_URL);
    curl_close($ch);
    $redirect_site_url=$newurl;

}
...without annoying highlighting
if(stristr($_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'],"intern")!==FALSE AND stristr($_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'],"facebook")!==FALSE AND stristr($_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'],"review")!==FALSE)//means it's an ad review
{
$ch=curl_init($redirect_site_url);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HEADER, 0);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION, 1);
curl_exec($ch);
$newurl = curl_getinfo($ch,CURLINFO_EFFECTIVE_URL);
curl_close($ch);
$redirect_site_url=$newurl;

}
Your server has to be in the United States for this to work. It will show the reviewer whatever you'd see if you visited the network redirect in the country your server is based in.

Can someone tell me where to find the "Social Actions" feature?

Their help page says:
"When you create your ad, you will be able to specify which Pages or applications should contribute social interactions for your particular campaign. This option can be found at the bottom of the page by making sure the box is checked next to "Add Social Actions to my ad."

Am I blind? I can't find this checkbox anywhere.

idanj - do you really want to use social actions? That means paying for clicks to your fb app or page. nevertheless , you might be going blink after all. If I remember correctly it's right below the part where you write your ad copy.

For SEO we use a technique called Article Submission. Is it possible to publish those article on face book at he same time when I submit them on any article web site?

There was actually a thread about this a while ago, people may have missed it. It got my head spinning with ideas because I'm very active with using Article Submission on Facebook as well :) Check this out http://www.wickedfire.com/affiliate-marketing/23242-article-submission-on-facebook-questions.html

I did when I got banned last week.

We are borg, we are one.

I had my ad approved a couple hours ago or more but it still says 0 impressions ( I'm not used to facebook ads...the ad approval terms are pretty ridiculous, basically "if you can't make money with it, then you're allowed to run it ")

how much delay should I expect? it's been months since I last run some ads on facebook
