Anyone else get the feeling we can soon expect FF6, then FFX-2, then FF:Online, and finally FireFox:The Spirits Within?
(gil to the person that gets that)

Snicker...

But damn, I still think we should have names like that. Leave the stupid numberings to the accountants.

Give me Firefox:The spirits within along with Word:Sticks and Stones and Excel:23, please.
(You should see the names I give my applications and scripts)

I've just moved over, bit of a pain as I had the beta installed and it imported bookmarks and passwords from when I installed that, not from 2... but sorted now..

Anyone found a decent session manager? Tab Mix Plus isn't updated yet and the built in thingy just won't recall the last tabs for me..

Anyone elses cookies getting erased every time Firefox is restarted? It shouldn't be doing that according to my preferences (some other people have reported this as well). And I get logged out of Adwords almost every minute now.

Damn lazy hippies, it's the first result for "session manager".

It's the one I use, works like a charm with FF3.

Yeah the cookie thing is killing me too. The only thing about updating is finding a new set of bugs that you have to deal with. This cookie issue is becoming a very annoying problem.

JohnMatrix: Opera IS good, but does it have the addon functionality that FireFox does? All the little bits that make looking up ranks and scores, and social bookmarking such a breeze? Or stealing videos heheh?
Seriously, I don't use it much, so I'm actually asking this. Not being rhetorical.

Im not sure what you mean by looking up ranks and scores or social bookmarking.. i dont really do that stuff, not sure how firefox would make it easier? But theres a widget for stealing videos, thats for sure =)

If you have been using opera as long as me, you start to notice firefox coming out with similar features long after opera came out with them. e.g firefox copying opera's mouse gestures feature.

Features i love from opera.. speed dial. WHen you open a new tab it gives you thumbnails of your fav websites. VERY HANDY!

Then theres the magic wand, so if you have multiple accounts on a website you can actually choose which username\password to use and login with, forms are not automatically filled in like firefox which can be annoying. gmail for example, click the wand.. choose xxxx@gmail.com hit ok and BAM it logs that account in for you.

Oh yeah and the 'paste and go' feature, you have no idea how much i miss that feature when i use other browsers. When you copy a URL and paste it into the address bar you dont paste it normally, you hit paste and go.. and it pastes it and loads the site automatically. On firefox you have to paste then hit enter, dosnt sound like much but trust me its little things like that that make me love opera.

Not to mention the slick new interface in 9.5

Linux.com :: Opera 9.5 gives Firefox 3 a run for its money
Theres a bunch of benchmarks here... opera wins most of them. They test em on windows and linux.

I hope i have convinced a few people to try opera =)

It's been a while since I last used/tried opera.. I want to say around version 7 or so? It was certainly wayyyyy better than IE, but the main problem that I had, is that it simply wouldn't load some websites correctly. Yes, that was websites that where all hacked up to display correctly in IE, but I still was visiting those sites, and couldn't really use them. I switched over to Firefox, and everything worked great, plus all the add-ons and customization for it, made it the winner. Kind of sucked, because I was really digging Opera at the time except for problems on some websites.

That being said however, I'm not upgrading to FF3 yet. Going to wait a bit till they get bugs worked out and everything supported and such. Hopefully shouldn't be too long. :)

I upgraded yesterday, most extensions are already updated for ff3, for the few that were not I found similar or better replacements for them. No problems here, works great.
