I have a new site about 4 months old, easy keyword but it appears to be stuck at the top of page two of the results.

All the normal has been done, lots of link diversity, lots of social, high powered sites linking to it.

The site is also a EMD, widgetcity.com to rank for local "widget city" searches. I am sure the site has tripped a filter, just not 100% sure of the work around for it...

Even searches for "business name" that I am not targeting that should naturally come up on top is at the top of page two.

Is this just a new domain filter keeping it down until it matures or is there a fix? I have not bought a new domain for many years, usually just buy expired stuff so this is puzzling me.

Not looking for advice from newbies! Can someone please post a dickroll link to help filter the newbies

It is taking longer and longer with new domains nowadays. It will happen eventually. Keep adding content and building links, but don't go crazy.

Oh, and don't put all your eggs in the Google basket.

My latest site took 9 months to get to top 10 (in top four now) for its main keyword. The same topics used to take me just a few weeks to rank in 2015. Competition hasn't changed much.

Heard the same complaint from more than one Skype buddy, one of whom is a member here.

So take that for what you will.

Thanks for that, in the past a few weeks is all it took for me as well, but have not tried it with a brand new domain for years... will have to try something different to trick Google into thinking the site is older than it really is... thanks for the info.
