Currently I need help with hosting and domains. If anyone has extra room on their VPS or dedicated box, PM me. Also, if you have domains you want to donate to this project, PM me.

If you are donating domains, you need to be okay with giving them up for $10, no more, no less. If the domain has less than 6 months remaining on it and your n00b wants to buy it, you have to renew the domain for them before pushing it.

For those of you looking to help out with hosting, you need to be able to set up individual accounts, not "add on" domains in your shared account. Hosting accounts can be as small as 1 gig of memory and 2 gig of transfer. Or you can provide them with as much memory and transfer as you want.

n00bs that are blessed with a domain and hosting through the kindness of other members should thank their "sponsors" by at least signing up for affiliate programs through their sponsors links. It's not much, but it's something. Also, you must post your progress at least once per week in this thread, AND have something visible within 3 days of getting your domain / hosting, or else you lose your domain / hosting and any involvement in this project.

n00bs wanting to participate, just keep and eye on this thread. You'll know when we're ready for you.

I'll try to be more active this time, but I can't promise anything. So, if any vets want to help out, that would be great!
 


Got a couple people to donate some server space, so we'll have three servers available for Round 2. Still looking for domain donations.
 
Alrighty, we're almost ready. Some of the domains from "No Excuses Part 1" will be reused. Others expire shortly and I don't want to mess with renewing them. So, what I'm willing to do (since nobody wants to donate any domains) is buy 20 .info's for you guys.

Since I'm buying them, I'll own them, but you'll get to use them. If you decide to purchase your domain at the end of "No Excuses 2" you will have that option.

I'll post the domain list shortly (next 24 hours or so).

BTW, the thread is now open, so you can start asking questions if you like.
 
No questions here. Just wanted to say thanks for putting another thing like this together. I'll take the opportunity to get my fucking ass in gear!
 
I have an idea that I've been kicking around for some time. I'll use this thread as a bit of motivation to actually get it done. Ordering VPS right now.
 
Well... im going to use this thread to get my ass started on hosted sites and try to get some decent sites up. I did some stuff with blogger so im not completely noob. But im clueless when it comes to hosted sites and wordpress.

So far i got my self hosting with bluehost and a new domain. I installed wordpress but it doesn't show up at the regular url.

as in www* .url .com but it does show up at www . url . com /admin /wordpress/

so im trying to get that fixed some how and then i guess ill have to find tons of plugins and what not.

Ok - I participated in the first thread and learnt a hell of a lot so its time to give something back. Once this gets started I will donate my time to do one custom landing page for one of the participants.

Also Mike - I am willing to donate discussingdylan.net if you would like to take it and use it for the project?

God Im feeling generous today :)

Well sense your feeling so generous I wouldn't mind some help in the landing page department ;)
 
Great! Sounds like this project may take off like crazy! Looking forward to the launch. I'll start a new thread once we go live, so don't worry about cluttering this one up with OT stuff. It'll disappear in a few days.
 
I'm in too if that's cool. Been looking forward to this one for a while.

Pity you didn't get many domains donated. I'd give you one but most of mine contain the word 'porn' or 'midget'. The .info is a good idea though. Then if we start to get anywhere we can buy a .net or .com as well.
 
I have DS i can donate sitting on unlimited bandwidth.. Not using it much, just now started developing my domains after PPC going to shits...

I also got plenty of domains I can donate, let me know what kind of domains you're looking for..

I'm also going to get onboard this. I've started designing my wordpress site as we speak. Will be interesting to watch everyones progress...so I can pick up some tips :)

Once the thread opens proper, with allocation of domain names first person to drop me a note on the thread gets the goods! wanna make it fair for everyone once the thread starts up :)

Of course if you are the first tweak then my time is your time :)

Awesome work Mike, ill be participating in this round aswell. Although im not completely new to this, I will take this oppurtunity to get my ass in gear and do some work. Looking forward to getting started with this.

It would also be nice to see some veterans chime in and give some tips and guidance
 
I will put up hosting out of the accounts I already allocated for WF here/ 1080MB, 32GB bandwidth.

Am digging around my domains to see if any can be sacrificed to the cause that actually aren't shit that would only insult the recipient.

Will also offer WordPress and CSS tutoring via PM as I did in the previous NMX thread.

i like this whole concept .ive been doing the affiliate marketing thing for about 6 months altogether i think i made -75 ....lol .not counting the money i spent on forums . so this is perfect for me .i have 3 domains i can give two of them up .if need be .
