Noise Cancelling Headphones, Bose overpriced?

you got my vote on Audio Technica. They are awesome... makes plane rides nice, great to work with at home or in the office... I feel like I'm in my own little bubble.

Seems like Audio Technica got lots of good reviews on Amazon, while Bose Q.C famed for it's crappy durability. Audio Technica is even $100 less than boss, but how about it's sound quality and comfort?

Ive got a few pairs of the Able Planet noise canceling headphones ( around $110) and they are as good as any other higher priced ones i have tried

As a pilot, having used Bose noice cancelling headphones, I will say that the technology is unbelievable, and the low clamp on the headset, combined with the noise cancelling technology, make for a headset you don't mind wearing for hours upon hours.

My .02c.

My Dads got a pair of BOSE. I've got a 30 dollar "KOSS" brand with a microphone as well.

We compared.

I laughed at him because he couldn't tell the difference.

KOSS?

Bose may be overpriced but if you can't hear a disparity between those 2 brands in frequency response then godbless your ears, godbless everyone of them.

Say what you will, but I have tried the Bose and love them. They are amazing. We gave our sales agents eee-pc's and they are supposed to record a video affirmation of the client before they leave the house. The affirmation is just a reiteration of the product they are purchasing and they affirm they actually want the product. Well somehow the audio records all turned out crap. The ONLY THING I could hear them on were a pair of BOSE headphones. Even amplifying through various different amplifiers didn't allow the sound to be heard above a bare whisper. But those Bose you could hear everything plain as day...

Now obviously that has nothing to do with music, but still. They are comfortable, you can't hear shit outside of the head phones and they work great. yes, they are probably over priced, but you are paying for the branding they have built up over the years. After all they have to get a return on their money!
