Of course we all knew twitter would eventually start closing accounts. I noticed it closed a lot of accounts that were obviously automated affiliate twitterbots. I just had a couple of my accounts closed that were only affiliate links, with a few random tweets here and there made to look real. Has anyone here had their account closed and found out exactly why? I'm wondering if it's the affiliate links (maybe LP's would work better) or if it's all he automation. Any ideas?

I couldn't find any other threads on this topic, so sorry in advance if it's a repeat.

Your problem was that they were all affiliate links "with a few random tweets here and there made to look real". Seriously? That's the best you can do?

You ever had a conversation that goes "I was buying exercise equipment as seen on TV the other when I spoke to Marcie about how she bought Acai pills with a free trial but she got a free upsize to the colon cleanse because he could be the 100th winner"?
Not unless you were seriously fucking high AND stupid.

People don't always advertise shit. People occasionally mention a good offer, but by far and away it's not the only fucking thing they're talking about.
If you'd actually thought that shit through, you'd have made about 200-300 lines of general conversational chit chat, sequenced that shit, found something to spin it so it could go on forever without sounding too repeated, and then thrown in your affiliate links to post every 8-12 tweets.

That's how a real person might put across on twitter when they're also hocking shit.

It's amazing how lazy some people are. "A few posts here and there". I call this a half assed effort and it sounds like the OP got what he deserved.

I actually just got nailed on an account about an hour ago. It wasn't affiliate related at all. In fact, we were giving money away. Guessing it was for "aggressive following". Funny thing is, it was about at the ratio I'd been following at since the beginning.
 
If you're generating income from your spamerific twitter account get a family member who needs some extra dough(above middle school preferably) to pump out some real live tweets for a little weekend money.

I agree, but twitter doesn't ban accounts because the poster is retarded and/or lazy, that just stops people clicking the links.

To OP;

you can ask them why it got banned, you can even dispute it, but I assume (never having done this myself) that all complaints/disputes are routed to /dev/null.
 
I have been agressively following people with a few accounts and have not been banned.

You got banned for the links or a large amount of unfollows or blocks.

And this has happened before. A couple months ago I lost 100 followers as they were cleaning out spammers. They do this occasionally. Dispute it immediately. You might just get it back.
