Obama hates Israel...

good, and they can do it without our help, not my fucking problem. and not really, this current dispute started in 1947 when the UN created the currently defined version of israel. fuck the UN, fuck Israel, fuck the middle east, it's not our problem. deal with it.

Unfortunately it is our problem until the tree huggers let us start drilling for oil in the US.. There is more oil here than there, but we aren't allowed to drill for it.. If we had our own domestic oil supply then we wouldn't need a semi stable middle east and an ally over there.. And right now Israel is that only ally.. Even if they aren't the greatest ally, they are better than most..

It is also rumored that a lot of the aid being sent to Israel is sit down and take it money.. If they were left to their own devices I would wager that Israel would be far larger than it is now.. Sort of like Kobe buying his wife a nice ring..

Personally, I expect another offensive against Israel in the next 10 years and I expect Israel to retaliate with nukes, 4 years if the current administration is re-elected.. Then all bets are off..

The USA already produces about a third of its own oil. However, there is much more oil over there than here.

Saudi Arabia is an ally. They are the #3 supplier to the US after Canada and Mexico. After that it is Venezuela and Nigeria. Much less of the oil used in the US comes from the middle east than what people assume.

Plz stop posting in this thread I'm sick of seeing it. I'm sorry I started it.

I'm about to drink some beers this weekend and if I have to bump every fucking thread on the next 6 pages to bury it I will.

Thank you for your understanding.

Is it okay in this histrionic, opinionated age to not have an opinion? My parents were Jewish, and my mother visited Israel. This was a big thing for her and I have no problem with that. These days, I have to put up with her brother sending me annoying and nationalistic Israel first and last emails that lack any sophistication or nuance whatsoever. That, and Jackie Masonish Jewish jokes that aren't funny. His attitude is fairly typical of Jews of his generation.

Israel and Palestinian drama is constantly in the news, no matter which year or decade you tune in. They are like a sick, dysfunctional married couple that you tried to listen to and help, but you can't do anything to get them to work out their problems. The middle east is kind of like Africa in a way: No matter how much you donate, there will always be wars and famine and little kids with distended bellies. I don't wanna hear about the conflict anymore, and wish they'd STFU and go away. Our interest in Israel is strategic; we use it as a friendly beachhead in an otherwise-unstable and unfriendly area with important natural resources.

It's 90% about oil. Yes, the US is more concerned about the oily places than the holy places. I'm more interested in the Arab spring because the people in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya and Syria took positive action and helped themselves. The Israeli and Palestinian conflict is sick and hopeless no matter what you do. They have to work out their own problems, and until they do, I have put them on ignore.

Drilling for oil anywhere is the problem not the solution. Very short sighted to think that more wells are the answer. If oil was free and your gas tanks were filled up while you sleep it is still killing us. LOL at the treehugger remarks. Dear treefucker, no trees no oxygen. You want to shit where you eat fine but go find your own planet to fuck up. Second decade of the 21st century and we are still burning fossil fuels. So 1800 ish.

We are going to waste tax dollars up till the end financing an antiquated energy source that is no longer viable. Raise the price of oil now to $1,000 dollars a barrel. 5 years of hell will jump start other energy sources and put us 100 years into the future.

I swear the drill here drill now mentality reverberates with the dark ages mindset.

How does U.S support for Israel have anything to do with sound strategy? The "friendly beachhead" is actually leading to much of the instability.
