Obtaining LLC company accounts in the US

Is it possible to obtain a private company's (LLC) annual accounts in the US?

If so, can you tell much about their trading position or is it a bit of an ENRON affair?

It's a simple thing to do in the UK, although you often can't learn that much.

Not without a court order - which you'll never get without a good reason (more than just being curious or being a potential investor).

In some instances, securities laws require companies to open their books when seeking private investment (a.k.a. - a prospectus). Not sure if that applies here or not...
