So like ... when does the new policy get instituted that insta-bans all these fucktards making sales threads in STS and other sections of the forum?

I'm not sure which threads you mean but I understand where your coming from.

On the other hand, some of these threads would never be posted in BST to begin with, check the http://www.wickedfire.com/affiliate-marketing/141554-try-whatrunswhere-1-yes-way.html thread. As mentioned many times in there, if it was posted in BST tons of people wouldn't have seen it - I've not tried it yet but it seems like a damn useful service which is beneficial for more users as its posted in the AM section. There are lots of "one off" threads which should still be allowed to be posting without paying.

Fair enough if your straight up offering copy, seo, blog networks, etc but there is definitely a grey area which would be detrimental to (the non selling) users if it was to be posted in BST.

Would you expect dchuk to pay for him posting this? http://www.wickedfire.com/shooting-...ts-reddit-hubfrenzy-com.html?highlight=alltop

I think it should be handled the same way WF handles everything, with common sense.

I'm looking for various jobs to be done and I would have posted it in BST, but I don't feel like paying $36 to pay someone else money.

Im surprised there are many people trying to circumvent the system. Pulling a return on a 30 dollar investment over 10 days is like shooting fish in a barrel unless you vastly underprice your service or just dont have anything half way decent to offer. I mean I guess I could see how the $2 xrumer blasts or various other bottom of the barrel offer guys might be having trouble but thats what you get when your only unique selling point is lowest price. I imagine the wheat will sort itself from the chaff in short order. The new rule has only been in effect a short time. Wait it out and I expect the overall quality of the entire forum will improve as the DP-like people find this place no-longer hospitable or profitable ;-)

I want to get a sense for any interest there may be for a service I'd like to provide, but don't want to launch because I'm debating on pricing and what not...STS should be a section for something like that, right? Getting feedback from peeps if they think it would rock or suck without actually selling anything.

Thoughts on that?

Traffic and Content?

I'm specifically referring to all the domain for sale posts in the Hosting & Domains section lately. Once in a while is understandable (although the threads should be removed) but the sudden rash of them since the BST fee was instituted suggests this is just jackasses who wanted to post their domains, saw the fee and "made an honest mistake" (cough cough) and posted in the non-sales section.

@Smif I understand what you mean, and the line can perhaps come down to a matter of opinion. I do think that people, especially established members, who mention or ask for feedback on a service of their own, ought to be given a little leeway, but even for established guys if they are running a de facto sales thread outside of BST they ought to at least have the thread removed and get a warning.

Actually, I think that's totally warranted if it's a one time deal, why would you pay for a BST thread if you're not offering a service.
