Agree that the social media crap shouldn't have been placed.

I thought what they did with the queen arriving by helicopter was cool, and Rowan Atkinson was epic.

I can imagine lots of people worldwide watching it thinking "what the fuck is this?" though, especially people not aware of our history.

Fuck the opening ceremonies. Look at what happens in Canada, every year during the summer. International fireworks festival. Several countries compete, and outfit a couple tankers in the harbor with fireworks. Country with the best compilation wins.

Trying to compare the Chinese ceremony to the British ceremony is just silly. Heres a question to those who compare on how the British did better in certain ways. Have you heard anyone say the Chinese ceremony was crap? I doubt it. Have you heard anyone say the British ceremony was crap? Loads. Case closed. No point trying to defend the British performance. See it for what it is. Self centered disorganized arrogant boring crap.
 
Enjoyed it except for the leftist bs they tried to push. Was decent over all. Can't really compare it to Beijing, but since we are, atleast it was better than this travesty:

I'm honestly quite surprised at the negative reception from outside the uk, as it had almost universal praise from the home crowd. Personally I thought it was very well done. The quirkiness and history may nit have translated well to an American audience who perhaps prefer things to be big, easy to understand and nothing alien or confusing/different to hat they're used to.

The Chinese ceremony was big and showy which anyone can appreciate.
