Abu ghraib? Fucked up things happen during war. And everyone does them.
Like I said, that's why you don't go to war unless you really need to. And wow, I totally didn't have to watch a movie to figure that out.

And Democrats are out of power, what are you expecting them to do exactly?

Why aren't you serving if you're so behind our wars abroad Jon? I'm sure the military could use someone who was smart enough to get into Columbia.

France was one of Iraqs largest trading partner under the UN Oil For Food program. Guess who whas the largest?

I don't understand why that's hypocritical. They were opposed to entering Iraq at that time and wanted to continue attempting diplomatic solutions. After they realized we were determined to enter Iraq they planned to send troops.

Yep, failures in all wars except with themselves and the war that freed us from the British.

When Democrats were in Power they didnt do a damn thing, so your point is moot. Bush sr, knew the threat in Iraq and tried to do something about it! NOW Clinton when he was in office he knew about the threat of Osama and His terrorist group, but ignored it and did nothing about it ( FACT ).

Actually not true, there was a patriot missile attack on bin Laden's camps in 1998. Some have called it a half assed attack, but bin Laden is still uncaught/MIA despite a ground invasion.

I have to choose my words carefully.. but part of George W Bush first campaigning platform involved less international involvement. September 11th changed all of that. In the 90s the Republicans hated how the US was involved in so many military conflicts and peacekeeping missions, from Bosnia to Mogadishu.

The core problem here is that all of these events we are facing now date back to problems and mistakes made decades ago. Its kind of like trying to stop an accident after everyone involved is dead and/or injured. Take a look back at World War I and II, these are prime examples of massive fuck ups, and the consequences were genocide.

This article has nothing to do with the current situation , and I believe it is not 40 it is 35. But the article did have a point on both sides of the political fence. Neither wealthy dems or republicans have their family members able to be drafted. PUSSYS.

I say if these politicians want to bring the draft back their kids join in on it.

I dont think it will come down to a draft though. Israel can handle it's own wars.

Now on another note if war does break out in North Korea, then I would probably be called up again. I served on the DMZ for 13 months.

But hell , so goes it, I have to do what it takes to ensure the safety of my wife and 2 little ones.

I think they need to keep that prison open and keep doing the tactics they were using. It gets intel that could potentially save the lives of our soldiers. No one told you to see the movie, all I was saying that they documented the way they fight compared to the way we do. Why are you trying to make it seem like I'm promoting a movie? All I said was look at what they did there, that depicted EXACTLY how the Arabs fight. Why can't you just accept that they fight completely dirty and stop sticking up for them you traitor..

I actually tried.. but the recruiter said I needed to tone it down a bit, told me to get some therapy and come back in a year. I would be a complete section 8. Give me a machine gun, and I will shoot at anything that doesn't have an American flag on it's arm. Including liberals who wear yellow shirts that say "human shield".. that shit died out quickly, literally.

I'm kinda curious why you keep bringing up Columbia University in your responses. Which college did you go to? I know Columbia is completely liberal bias and whatnot, but I have close ties to the Republican party, and a buddy of mine who goes to UC Berekley (by far the most liberal douchebag school in the nation) and they have been gathering up a pretty strong group of young Republicans who used to consider themselves libs. They are tired of bitching and want to see results, so Republican is the way to go. Suck it!!

And I'm 100% for the draft btw, even knowing that at the age of 25 I'd be headed out. I really doubt we'd be doing stupid shit like invading Iraq if there was a draft.

I'm actually more in favor of a mandatory 2 year service period, military or otherwise. But this is off topic I guess.

Dude, bullshit. I'm sorry but I'm going to call you on it. Recruiters love hearing that shit, I have a first cousin who's a recruiter for the Marines and he'd love it if you told him you were enlisting to shoot terrorists.

You want his number? He's in New York even.

I am all for what the U.S. stands for in principal. I am a capitalist. i was a republican until about 2 years ago. But right now, I would emigrate if I could. Other nations don't want Americans right now... even if they are highly skilled in tech/business.

This whole thing is a joke and the ultimate joke is going to be played on U.S. citizens. I voted for Bush the first time around and watched as freedom gets crushed for Americans.

Sorry about the rant, but this is by far one of the most expensive countries to live in , in the world, Go to mexico or costa rico, panama,or some other country.

And for people to bash the government then say " I would leave if I could" shit, You CAN LEAVE, You Can Take your Family with you. The countries I mentioned above have some of the best American Schools in the world, your kids will have great educations and health care isnt all that bad, if you have the money.
