Met up with one of my clients last night to go over some of their revisions for their webste and their launch in a few weeks, as the meeting went on, started "shooting-the-shit" and she tells me that she's flying in her sister to stay with them for the weekend.

Turns out this "sister" works for GOOGLE and manages quite a number of employees. My client doesnt know exactly what she does, for all she knows she could be head of human resources or whatever. My client also mentioned that her sister has money coming out of her ears, in just 3 personal sites alone (no number$ given - so not sure if thats alot or not). Knowing that alone, I would think she knows what she's doing when it comes to having a successful website.

She had asked me if I wanted to join them one nite for dinner or coffee just to talk. I'm like SURE i'll join! Started thinking to myself, whoa, I wonder if i could get some insider info about how they way Google works?! (yea yea, i know google employees read this....so i just might be setting myself up)

Now I don't know what the google policies are when it comes to devulging info about the big G search engine, but if I'm given the opportunity to ask questions, I want to be prepared. I have a few questions in mind I want to ask but I also want to ask WF members:

If you had 3 questions to ask, what would they be?

What underwear are you wearing?
Was your father a thief because he must have stolen the stars for your eyes...? however that chat up line goes...
Are you shaved?

she works for google?
ask:
"can i get a job??? please???? no, really - i'm not kidding, please??"

and you wonder why some of us get neg rep :) its posts like the ones above lol that totally fuck people up. Ask her why in the fuck do they punish long copy publishers or one page websites where you dont want the customer nosing around too much. :) there simple question.

i was serious- if nothing else i'm sure she has some good contacts you can hit up. would be pretty sweet working for a company like that for a few years and learning how it works from the inside - then taking that with you and making some serious cash!

then again I dont know much about you, so don't know where you are in your career - but it never hurts to have a good network of experts around you that you can hit up for some help or advice once in a while...

My comment was just the first thing that came into my head... sorry :)
However, i doubt she'll tell you anything to be honest, unless you do marry her. She could lose her job and all that.
Also, most Goog employees are rich from share options, not their own websites. I wouldn't be surprised if using google algorithm knowledge for your own interest is a serious misconduct at the company.

Q: Any future plans for those of us who do Arbi? Are you guys just trying to find a way to shoot us down...

But if you're really smart you wouldn't ask her questions, but try to create a contact that could be used later. I'm sure she'll have a grand time going out for coffee and getting plastered with dumb questions...

wow, neg rep so fast?!

maybe the ones who handed out the neg rep mis read my post.... i didnt say anything bout beating the shit out of her to get information, just going to ask...its up to her to answer if she wants to..

sheEesh.

:)
