- You can disable lagging animations with switching spaces. If you change space a lot you'll feel dizzy.
- The new gestures systems makes the trackpad less responsive. (Good concept, but still glitchy)
- Mission Control is pointless. Just learn the damn key command.
- Launchpad is retard. Just hitting CMD+Space and searching is way faster.

Wish I never upgraded. Just laggy as shit.

Any advice or tweaks?

Linux is also a good choice.

Since Ubuntu is screwing the pooch with their UI changes, Mint it is.

I don't know why you'd hate Windows 7 so much. Shit actually works.

I don't hate Windows, just liked Linux better. Haven't used it in like 4 years, I think I used Slackware.

But mac has been good to me until now. I'll check out Mint.

Lion came out months ago. It took you just now to decide to tell people not to update. They also just announced mountain lion.

I know, that's why I decided to upgrade because I figured they should have sorted out the bugs in Lion by now.

Honestly its just sucking for me so much I had to share. You can't even side scroll.

If you used slackware you'd remember. It's one of the best distros ever created.

I'm on Lion and I'm not really having any issues, but it's an iMac and not a laptop.

I hate unity with a passion, its worthless. Xubuntu has been awesome!

Hey guys I just wanted everyone to know that Windows ME sucks! Do not upgrade. It is totally not better than 98SE stick with that. I just upgraded and really wish i didn't fucking sucks.

Snow Leopard ftw. I looked at the features of Lion and realised it offers nothing I'd use or like beyond my superb 10.6.8.

LOL at Windows 7 fanboys. When I was younger and using Win 95 and 3.1 we used to whinge to shit about how crap Windows was. Then we had 98. Nice. 98se was the bollocks and XP was a joke, pre-SP1a, and once MS cleverly threw it in the bin and created Vista I decided enough was enough. Shonky inefficient shit is shit.

I simply don't understand how MS ever acquired fans, although I suspect Cialdini will tell us it's to do with confirmation bias and the fact Apple polarised opinion by alienating those who don't upgrade to Apple.

All I know is, I type words on keyboard here then I get to see vaginas. Outside of that, I don't give a fuck.

I use Lion and I love it. I've got it on a Macbook Pro, Macbook air and a 6 year old Mac Pro tower. Runs like a champ. The gestures & full screen apps alone are worth the $29 price tag. Launchpad, yeah kinda gay. Mission control I use.

Oh and I kinda like Ubuntu and Unity. In fact I used to hate using Linux in general but Unity has changed that. Guys a start bar is so 1994. It's all about docks and launchpads now.

Maybe cause this is my first mac, but I don't really have any of those problems with lion. I actually find launchpad quicker for getting to main apps than mac+space. Gestures rarely lag if it at all. Using newest MBA though.

Apple have this thing called 'up to date' where you can download a free copy of Lion if you recently bought something with snow leopard on it.

Apple - OS X Lion and Lion Server - Up-to-Date Program

I met none of the requirements as I bought my MBP way before July 2011, and 7 months after the 30 day period you have to claim your free copy of Lion. Nevertheless I tried it, entered my serial number, it worked and I got a free copy of Lion to download. FOOLS!

I haven't used Lion at all, but you should try LaunchBar and Alfred. They're the way forward. My dock is minimised with just TotalFinder and a couple of folder icons. CMD + Space on those apps is different gravy.

This, for instance, is how I send an email with attachment in a few seconds using LaunchBar. Select file, CMD+Space, CMD+G, Tab, begin typing email address, down, enter (to select address), type subject, tab, type content, CMD+Shift+D. Finito.

Alfred is also superb, and I could probably use both, but I think one's enough.

I use totalfinder too! Probably one of my favorite addons for OSX. Here's how I send an email, not as geeky as your method but still cool.

Move finger on trackpad 1.2cm downward (Its kinda far since I have a 30" monitor). Tap "Mail" icon with finger. Move finger 0.3cm to "New mail" button. Tap. Type in first 2 letters of person I want to send mail to. Tab for auto complete. Tab for subject, tab again for message body. Press enter to send.
