Over Sleeping is Killing Me

I think the biggest change you can make it the amount of light in the room when you want to wake up. I changed rooms to one with much more light that comes in around 6-7 am and I have been waking up much earlier then I used to (and going to bed earlier). If you don't have any good windows that get a lot of light, you could set an alarm on some lights maybe.

I grew up living in a basement (jokes aside) but when I moved to an appartment with morning lighting i was finally able to get my sleep routing under control.

lately it has been suffering a bit due to minor depression and anxiety.. so I reduced my late night drinking and have started taking sleep aids about 11:30pm. This has helped a lot as well.

I think the biggest thing is just getting into a good routing, no matter WHAT TIME in the day that is.. just keep it regular.

Wow, this is weird, because I've been dealing with this lately, too. Haven't really gotten out of it either. And I'm not a lazy person, it's just, when my brain is in that 10-second fog of waking up, turning off the alarm and then deciding to just lay there for a bit is what it decides to do.

Laying there turns into hours (once you fall back to sleep) and half the fucking day is wasted, seriously unintentionally.

Definitely going to open the shades tomorrow, and set my phone across the room though.

Do you have silver amalgam fillings in your teeth? If so remove them, then go through a mercury detox.

There's an old army trick that works naturally - similar to an above post.

Soldiers who had watch duty would drink a full canteen of water a few hours before they needed to get up for duty.

Put a large - like a quart - glass of water next to your bed. Set your alarm for 2 hours before you need to actually get up. Don't reset it - just drink the entire glass of water. You'll have to experiment with the timing for your own body but this works.

For bonus points don't hit the toilet right away - instead shower first. You'll be VERY awake (and ready to explode) by the time you're done showering.

I've recently developed a pretty nasty problem. ive been sleeping 11-12 hours a night it i hate it. i wake up and half the day is gone. has anyone overcome this problem before?
You seem to have caught a bad case of Michiganism. It comes from an acute lack of sunlight and warm weather. I'm not kidding, I lived there and I know all about it. Get the fuck out now.

Or did you look at the weather this morning and say, "Oh boy! Lightening storms! This is so much better than eight months of snow!"

Dude - the day I have to go through this much work to not get up in the morning, just fucking shoot me.
