Previous thread that I let die.^

Well. I'm ripped nao bishes. I shall be posting pics later (when I getz mah new camera) to show off to you smexy people <3333.

Overall a great experience with P90X. Challenging, yet sort of enjoyable knowing you're helping yourself physically. Also challenging to do every day. (99% of my day is spent at school... Lol I'm lying. 99% of my day is spent wanking off to you WFers ;])

I believe in P90X 100%. I popped my sternum on my first month, and it took me a few weeks to recover (Pain in chest every time I applied force with my arms). That was my fault for exceeding my limits. Try this exercise program with some Creatine = Intense smexiness.

It works just the same as any other successful workout regimen works; Proper eating and consistent exercise.

Lovin the ab ripper x.. It's a beast... But I'm working on gaining some major poundage with free weights, protein, and creatine in the next few months. P90x is a beast.

P90x is more about conditioning than getting bulk mass. It's a legit workout. I thinks it mainly for beginners and people who don't have the luxury to go to the gym everyday. There are no homo when it comes to working out. There are only the weak and the strong. You can't be a pussy forever...

tis true. Gotta keep your calories right, have a clean diet, and lift heavy. bottomline. But congrats, Keep on getting those muscles as big as you can!

P90X provides focus, structure and motivation. Follow it and get results. Just another way to skin a cat and keep peeps interested. It's definitely legit.

Don't waste your time on P90x or supplements. I found this site a while back but haven't started working out but this dude knows everything. May God bless this nigglet 50000x over.

Scoobys Home Bodybuilding Workouts

I wouldn't knock supplements so quickly. They are a quick and in-expensive (yes, I said in-expensive) way to get the exact nutrition you need. Example.. Do some math on the price of chicken breasts (what are they shooting these fuckers up with these days anyways) vs. Whey protein to compare prices to get equal protein.

p90x is a a predesigned program that tells you what to do when if you don't want to muck the experimenting. Yes anybody can experiment and can up with a good routine. It's ironic to knock p90x but link to someone else's 'p90x' and say you don't need p90x.

Exactly

P90X is OK if you need some gay homo telling you what to do every second, but there are many ways to achieve the same results in A LOT less time.

If you've been working out for a while, ignore the contents of this post.

If you're a beginner, simple works best. Simple, linear progression of heavy weights doing just basic compound (multi-joint) exercises.

I highly, highly recommend a program called Starting Strength (free wikia site btw) by coach "Rippetoe" (actual last name) that focuses mainly on getting a noob as strong as possible in the shortest period of time. You'll get minimal "puffy" and "watery" muscle growth and much more actual contractile fiber growth (read: real muscle that doesn't deflate just because you took a day off) as it focuses on low reps heavy weight, which is what a beginner should be focusing on anyway.

AFTER you reach at least an "intermediate" amount of strength for your weight (there is a chart on the site if you look around) then you can start high-rep muscle-pumping programs at which point you will have much more potential for muscle growth thanks to your strength base.

Note though that there is no conditioning or cardio work at all in this program and that you might even gain fat, the reasoning being that strength takes more time and effort to gain and that you can add in conditioning and cardio work (which are relatively easier to improve) after reaching a certain level of strength.

Disclaimer: despite being a program for beginners, it is intense and there is a very real possibility of injury. Some quotes from this guy:

- "Accumulating injuries are the price we pay for the thrill of not having sat around on our asses."
- "Yes, if you squat wrong it fucks things up. If you squat correctly, those same fucked-up things will unfuck themselves."

Not really. You will build VERY little muscle doing P90X. On the other hand, Scooby's shit is all about free weights and strength training, which does pack on the muscle. You can't compare P90X to a real strength training workout - because P90X isn't one.

This. I'm about to restart Starting Strength after a minor injury. This is a strength gain/bulk program. If you want to lose weight, or develop a 6 pack, do not choose this program.

P90x is for weight loss, not strength gain. Those doing the routine for strength gain are misinformed.
