Patriots Clearly Still The Most Dominant Team In The NFL

I wouldn't say nobody is throwing against them, I'd more say that the Patriots got the D+ games out of Sanchez and Cutler. I admit that the Patriots outplayed and out-coached both teams, but no person in their right mind could say that the bears or jets played even their C-Game.

That might have a little bit to do with the greatest coach in football history.

After watching their defense in horror for the past 2-3 years, it is most definitely suspect, but one difference vs. past years is the generation of an actual pass rush. Cunningham, Moore, dudes been stepping up and actually putting pressure on the QB's and getting sacks.

I remember watching games where we gave QB's all the time in the world to throw, it was painful. I think Belichick also knows its a weak secondary, so he tries to keep them off the field as much as possible by making Brady do these long drives. But compared to past years it's pretty boss. McCourty, Chung, dudes been stepping up, making plays. Definitely not last year's secondary.

lol @ a bunch of grown ass men getting hostile and egotistical over this crap.. grow up..

'my team is the best' 'my team is a dynasty'

sports + internet forum = what you're seeing. what do you want from us? maturity? what should we be talking about? why are you even here? what makes you better than us? get out of our damn sports thread you jerk

@hellblazer, if by "everyone" you mean "patriots fans" then I would agree with you. Other than that, I think "everyone" was fucking psyched to see the Patriots lose. I don't think there were very many Patriots supporters that year at all. And good - I think you are a psycho as it is, so for me to do the opposite of what you would do as a Giants fan...sounds like I'm on the right track.

There is always one. I'm just shocked we made it to page 2 without some retarded euro spouting off about "handegg". Like it was a funny joke the first time they called it that, let alone the 100th.

Patriots are my favorite team. Tom Brady is a beast and so is his offensive.

I am betting that it is going to be the Patriots and the Falcons in the Super Bowl. You heard me say it first.

You realize that the Giants have won 3 superbowls as well, right?

In the same decade? Oh... right. Spouting off like a Yankees fan,... same state, not a big surprise.

The biggest thing shown in this thread... Jealousy is a bitch.

There are the leaders, and there are the followers. Watch next year, you will see 10 teams trying to mimic the Pats offense, just like in 07/08.

If you count '85, this is actually the Pats' 8th decent season in the past 50 years. Despite a decade of 6 easy division wins for the Pats, the Giants (playing in the toughest division in pro sports) have a much better all-time winning percentage, not to mention more than twice as many championship rings.
You really have no clue what you're talking about.
First, win percentage:
52.7% lifetime for Patriots
53% for Giants

Don't think anyone would consider .3% "a much better all time winning percentage".

Second, if you think going back 50 years and saying "the Giants have more Championships" is in anyway relevant, you're a fucking moron. Like I said above, no one's ever mentioned "Giants" and "Dynasty" in the same sentence before.

Keep riding those Championships from 1927, 1934, 1938, 1956.

I think the Patriots will take the AFC. The NFC though, who knows. The playoffs should be interesting.

AFC Championship:

NE/Pitt

NFC Championship:

ATL/N.O.

Allowing for one wildcard team in each league who could end up in the conference championship:

Baltimore (ugh.)
Philadelphia (vick - comeback player of the year, by FAR.)

Also - I think the Saints will beat ATL on the falcons home turf next week. Although the Falcons beat the Saints with a game winning field goal, I think like the Jets, they have been aided by a pretty darn easy schedule. The decent teams they played, steelers (lose) Saints (win) Eagles (lose) Ravens (win)...

Best coach in football history? Yeah, he's a great coach, but isn't the best coach in football history. Hell no.

Hell no? Why hell no? The guy already has 3 championships in a much more difficult era than Gibbs, Lombardi, Seifert, and Knoll. They didn't have to contend with a salary cap or the amount of teams and unprecedented parity in the league.

He has two championships from being defensive coordinator for the Giants in the 80's.

Not too mention he is also the GM and this season both the offensive and defensive coordinator.

He is already well in the discussion, if he get's 1 or 2 more championships then I think then the point is indisputable.

No one says you have to like the guy. But no one can argue at this point he isn't one of the all time greats.

Pats fan since birth, even better, a Pats (throwback style) halloween costume when NE was 1-15 in a season.

Can't remember back that far, but I remember well the year before Parcells when they went 2-14 with the legendary Hugh Millen at quarterback. I am amazed at how far this franchise has come. They were the doormat of the league for awhile.

Honestly if you dont think he's a contender for best coach ever you can call yourself biased to say the least.

Did you read anything I said? I stated that he wasn't THE BEST coach ever. Is he one of the great NFL coaches, yeah, but the best? No.
