Sadly, there's a rather large market in tech support for the stupid.
There's a reason those Complete Idiots Guide to X books are consistently re-printed.

"Tech support? The cup holder in my computer won't come out of its slot anymore!"

I've always wondered if people who buys those books feel like a dumbass as they're checking out at the bookstore.

Well... I bought the Idiots Guide to Plumbing...
I figured it was a smarter move than waiting 2 weeks and paying a guy $180 to fix my leaky toilet (which turned out to simply be a $3 rubber ring that had torn inside the cistern)
