Physical product development

There is also opportunities in Eastern Europe. Try poland, czech republic, Bulgaria, etc..

This is correct advice. Numerous times I had people tell me they bought this or that in China and when they tell me the price I know that I could have sourced him that for cheaper and better quality with made in EU stamp.
I strongly suggest anybody who is looking for products not to concentrate solely on Asia because sometimes you will lose.

Yup I've kind of been reserved of doing it because it's such a simple and IMO great product idea it's easy to have it stolen but we're probably being a bit too paranoid. The risk of having it stolen is lower than the risk of failure in case no one will want to buy it.

If you really think it will take a $10,000+ investment (at a bare minimum) to be able to sell it commercially I wouldn't worry at all about people stealing it.

Idea theft happens all the time but with a barrier to entry that high I don't think it is a big enough issue that it should stop you from doing things that will mitigate risk and potentially save you tens of thousands of dollars.

Where can I find some info on that? Like what products are produced where?

Might do some recon in the next year and make contacts, much closer than China.

this.

And nobody is gonna steal an unproven idea. It usually happens when something already is successful.

Momina Krepost PLC

They do custom designs and molds.

I've got their head of engineering in my phone's contact list. He will take offers under the table and do them for half of the price the company will charge.

It's within the EU. Cheapass labor, great country to visit and the best country tax-wise to do business within the EU.

We have a software partner in Bulgaria.

Good rates, very clever people.

The stories they tell of how the government works (or does not) over there are hilarious, too.

I work with a couple contacts in china including a group of engineers here in the states that sell led light bulbs. I can connect you with a couple groups for quotes depending if the tech is in thier fields of electronics.

You will be lucky to find something less that 20k for a prototype, however the fact you have already modeled, you should find more willing partners

I do trust these guys however, as the people said above, if you can find it in EU for around same price go for it and then move to Asia after you establish your self in the market.
