It's on the list :) But there's just a lot more higher priority things to take care of at the moment but, looks like the whole lot of you are monetizing just fine without it!

So a bit of bad news, POF is no longer accepting E-Harmony ads. I don't think this has an impact on too many people but just a heads up.
 


@Ben, as you said, I don't think there is a lot of eHarmony on POF, but could you give the reasoning behind that decision? Is it because of their free communication periods or is that totally unrelated?
 
So what DO you accept? Might as well say you don't accept Match or any of the major dating players and force your advertisers to promote niche dating sites only.

That's the road you are traveling along, and you WILL see your advertising revenue drop if you keep this up.

Out of interest, you planning on C&D'ing that copycat site, plentymorefish.com? They're taking the piss, they're bidding on the keyword plenty of fish, and other searches, with the ad copy blatantly trying to build itself as a business on your success.

Please, please, please add a way to group campaigns rather than listing all of them together. It would make life so much easier!

Totally agree on that!! Ben, also a bid estimator lol Would make things better, it's frustrating not being able to know if i'm bidding enough or too much...

An estimator is not good enough.

We need a max CPM bid. That solves all your problems.
 
Ben, would it be possible to have a look at one of my campaigns? I got an ad denied last night for excessive cleavage, or wearing a bikini indoors.

I don't think it's either of those tbh, she's wearing a tank top, and is all covered up, sitting a bit in the distance. It's definitely not the focus of the ad. It was approved before, but then I changed the destination to my lander, now it's denied.
 
joe, just reload the same ad and hope for a different reviewer. If an ad gets denied 2 or 3 times, then I figure it must be in that gray area, but once isn't enough for me to give up because the approvals are sometimes inconsistent.

Ok, dw about it actually, after a talk with another member about my campaigns, I've decided that actually, the thing I really need to work on is the offer, not the ads. haha.
 
Hey Guys, I need a hand. I've tried to get my conversion tracking pixel installed and I have not been able to get any data. I'm running it on a Neverblue campaign and I got my AM to put the script in. Does it not turn on like the cross tab reports till after a ~10 conversions?

It should show number of conversions in your POF panel, but cross-tabs aren't available till like 3. Definitely not as many as 10.
 
Thanks for your suggestions guys. I've been a bit behind responding to everyone and I apologize, there's only so much I can do while attending Ad:Tech. Anyway, I'm gonna try and answer your questions in this 1 post.

E-Harmony: As you may or may not know, we've launched eVow.com, which is a paid dating site meant to compete with the other paid sites. Whenever people think "serious dating", we want them to think eVow.com and not anyone else.

We still accept what we've always accepted, just without Singlesnet and E-Harmony now. Keep away from adult stuff (even adult THEMED sites will get declined: benaughty, c-date, spiceornice), extra-marital (hornyhousewives or whatever you guys have access to) and free dating sites.

If you have any doubts please email me at ben@pof.com BEFORE spending any time uploading ads as I know how frustrating it can be to spend a bunch of time on ads for an offer that's not approved.

Thanks for your suggestions for features guys, we will be redesigning the UI based on the suggestions we've received.

I'm probably going to be at ASW so I'll be arranging 1 on 1 meetups there as well. Remember to book when the time comes.

So... how long till you kill Match and any other "general dating" themed sites? Basically what you are saying is heading towards your advertisers not promoting your competition. If you don't want ads showing your competition that nixes everything but niche dating sites now that you are moving into paid dating with eVow.

Not necessarily, E-Harmony also had those "free communication weekends" which made it like a free site so that also butted heads w/ POF.

If you're REALLY worried about it, work on crushing those offers as hard as you can now so you won't have any regrets should this ever happen. Rebills, what?
